Holiday Inn Express Montpellier Odysseum

"Just spent a night there with the family for a weekend getaway in Montpellier. The location is great as there is lots to do at the Odysseum area and you can take the tram to downtown. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. My only complants for the room would be low water pressure and no dishes in the suite. I loved how they had the sofa bed set up for us already knowing that there were four us. Breakfast was good, with a nice coffee machine, cold meats, juices, fruit, yogurt, eggs, sausages, pancakes and over course viennoiseries. Parking is convient, but note there is an additional 15 euro charge. All staff was very friendly and multi-lingual. I would stay here again."

"The hotel offers large rooms, full breakfast, ample parking for a fee, pool, helpful staff and nice outside garden area. The 24 hr food service is also a big help when you don’t want to go out late. The hotel itself is walking distance to a shopping center with all kinds of restaurants and the excellent Planet Ocean featuring both aquarium and space themes. There were a few issues when we checked in to the hotel. We did not know or was told your car cannot drive up to the entrance to offload your luggage per norm. For some reason, entrance to the hotel is blocked off to cars. So arriving in a new place and seeing the hotel blocked off and no place to park to offload was annoying. This detail should be informed before as part of a pre-arrival notification as done by another hotel we stayed in France. The hotel’s car park is accessed by a card reader surrounded by an iron barrier. This reader is so low it’s not accessible from the car window and you can’t open the door to use it with the iron barrier. You have to park away from the card reader, exit the car, use it and then return. Apart from pain each time, it’s not very safe at night. This reader should be raised. I’m sure I’m not the first with that feedback and an easy fix. The staff was amazing and hardworking, especially Aida. Her English was great and always helpful. We had one bad experience on checkin with the guy a bit of a nitwit without the usual welcoming you would expect. Came across as a scatter brain and also when we ordered pizza it never turned up. When we enquired, turns out he had finished his shift, left the pizza in the oven and did not tell the new person about it. He needs some customer service training. The AC is the biggest issue really but not confined to this hotel but in many other places in France. It’s not cool enough for a comfortable sleep in June summer nights. They can control levels from reception but did not make much difference. With temperatures rising in Europe this needs to be looked at to maintain customer satisfaction as people come from different places and have varying temperature thresholds. The hotel AC needs to take into account not just French tolerance levels but variations amongst international guests. All in all, a great place to stay and I would highly recommend."

"Got to the hotel early and was greeted with a smile 😊, receptionist checked to see if our room was ready and yay it was , walked into the room, smelt lovely and clean, the super king size bed was lovely and comfortable, the shower was huge, all lovely and clean, complementary tea and coffee sachets ( not a fan of the paper cups but this now seems to be the norm) - only downside was no English tv channels but not really a problem- breakfast was all lovely and fresh & plenty of choice, the fresh breads were delicious, lots of fresh fruit and pastries , yoghurt and cereals,cheeses, pancakes, something for everyone ( only downside is only one toaster and it takes forever) other than that was superb. Hotel situated a few minutes from a tram stop, there's plenty of restaurants within 3-4 minutes walk around odysium shopping centre . Would stay again 👏 it does have limited car parking which I believe is an extra €15 per day."
