"We stayed here for two nights in mid-September. We flew into Montpellier Airport around 8pm, and then booked an Uber into the centre of the city- this took around 20 minutes. We already had a dinner reservation, so went to the restaurant first and then walked to the hotel, arriving around 11pm. After a short wait we were checked in and went to our room.
The room was on the third floor and situated at the back of the hotel. It was a decent size, and had a large comfortable bed. It also contained a brown sofa which took up quite a bit of space and meant that getting out of one side of the bed involved careful manoeuvring- we thought two smaller individual chairs would have worked better.
There was ample clothes storage space, tea and coffee making facilities, and a good size safe. There was a wide screen TV with a good range of French and international channels, with the ability to log into Netflix. There was also excellent wi-fi which was easy to log in to. The bathroom was in excellent condition with good storage space for toiletries. There was a combined bath and shower which worked well for us, but for those with mobility issues it might be difficult to get in and out of.
We made use of the hotel pool during our stay, and as the temperatures were in the late 20s it was popular with other guests and finding a free sun lounger or chair took a while. We used the pool in the late afternoon when it was in the shade and quite cold, so the best time would probably be during the middle of the day. There was also a bar at pool but was not being used during our stay and guests could not order from their sun loungers or chairs- instead they had to go down one floor in the elevator their swimwear to the main hotel bar to order drinks.
We did not have breakfast included within our rate, and instead went out both mornings during our stay. The hotel is located around 10 minutes walk away from Esplanade Charles de Gaulle, with Place de la Comedie just beyond and there is an excellent range of cafes and restaurants available. This area also contains a wide choice of restaurants and the Polygone shopping centre.
During our stay we visited the beach at Palavas-les-Flots, and as we didn't have a car made use of Montpellier's excellent tram network. From the hotel is was a short walk to the Corum tram stop, and after taking Line 2 to Gare St Roch we changed on to Line 3 to Perol Etangs de L'Or- this took around 45 minutes. Once there it is possible to take a bus to the beach or you can walk- if we were staying longer we would have hired a car but the tram is a great way of getting round and letting you see other parts of the city.
The Radisson Blu is a great place to stay for a short visit to Montpellier. The hotel was quite busy during our stay but the room had good soundproofing and we slept well. We would be happy to stay here again."
