Residence Odalys Saint Loup

"We planned a holiday flying to Bezier for a French holiday break .Our priority was a warm heated pool ,warm sea and beautiful beach nearby. We had all of the these.The pool is absolutely lovely. An added bonus was bird life and red squirrels ;we rarely see Red Squirrels in UK as they have been overtaken by the Grey Squirrel. The nearby Plage Roquille is lovely and the sea was warm and the beach clean The restaurant on the beach , Il Paradiso was lovely to visit and well run The accommodation was quite difficult to book,check in and be sure what was "included".We arrived and needed to add a huge deposit in case of damage . The accommodation was a disappointment .It was austere,soulless with almost nothing included.No soap,no detergent, no condiments .The shock was the beds.They looked like something from a hostel at best,a prison at worst.The bedding and towels that I had had to pay extra for were slung on a table in an orange laundry bag.It was a very unwelcoming start and poor presentation /start. There was ample hot water throughout our stay. There was no hair dryer ,which I needed. I checked with Reception to be told."Il n'est pas inclus".They could not locate the one hairdryer amongst the whole site.200-300 apartments !I wondered if I needed to put a deposit but no hairdryer was forthcoming. I needed to go to a hairdresser as I needed to have my hair looking respectable. I have NEVER stayed anywhere before with no hairdryer.The quality of the kitchen equipment was poor,blunt knives,lacking basic commonly used implements . The reception staff seemed disengaged. The restaurant cooking was average . After x2 meals we decided to buy our own food snd cook in the poorly equipped kitchen. Fortunately the independent supermarket attached to thesite was excellent. Food,staff and friendliness was welcoming .We focused on enjoying the lovely beach ,warm pool,good supermarket with home made bread and good quality food Access by key fob and safes was very secure. So had a good stay despite limitations and disappointments."

"Lovely apartments. Excellent location 5 mins to the beach 10mins to the port with loads of bars and restaurants. Pool is fabulous. Great supermarket on site, also bar and restaurant but not open every day when we were there. Secure parking and gated private resort."
