Massilia Hotel

"The worst hotel I ever been, had written in advertisements of Booking.com that the both room had aircon. But when we checked in 3 Aug 2025 at 8pm, hotel staff mentioned that they shall get electrician to repair aircon not working soon but later 10pm also nobody come. Had show the photo of Booking.com that the hotel room should have aircon but deliberate action not allow hotel guest to use inside the room whereas the ground floor reception had aircon. Had also report toilet lighting not working at all. As u can see the picture of aircon remote control had led lighting but there is deliberately action to prevent guest from using the aircon for our two room booking. Again remind hotel staff on 4 Aug 2025 Monday at 9.15am as u can see the picture below to fix aircon not working, then same excuse of getting technician to come & shall inform boss. All the above excuse had been repeated on 5 Aug 2025, but after checking earlier review by other clientele also reported that this hotel had using this scam trick to trick others book the hotel & use same excuse shall report to boss & get electrician had never come to solved the aircon not working problem. Even though it is working day 4 Aug 9am to 5 Aug 10am, no repair action was taken at all but a can work of lies by hotel staff to reply us that trying to get boss & get electrician coming. Internet wifi also not consistent, intermittent cut off. I felt that this hotel is not honest, not responsible, their motive is to save electricity. The room is very cramped, no space to put luggage bag , the worst even toilet light had been not working from 3 Aug to 5 Aug. The only ventilation is from toilet window, as we try to open window 9pm to 11pm. U can easily hear your neighbour talking loudly. So thus I warn all potential clients do not fall into their lies of shall getting electrician to fix aircon even though is normal weekday 4 Aug & 5 Aug for my two room is confirm deliberate cheating, scam, irresponsible, who is not concerned about their hotel reputation & guest overall feeling. The surrounding is not ideal , as it gave the feeling surrounding the location even 8-9pm not safe, especially if u alone.. I had travelled many countries, had never give 1 star if given a choice I give minus 10 , it almost night mare . Normally I give 3-4 star for average or above satisfactory 4 star. It give us bad taste feeling that France especially the staffs of Massila hotel is not honest to visit."

"While our room was clean and quiet, our standard room was small even by European standards. It felt like being in a train berth. A fold out shower in the bathroom made for an interesting experience. Very reasonable lodging rate, but for the money I’d consider other places. The surroundings could best be described as sketchy, although an advantage was that it is located near the main train station."

"First of all if using BOLT/UBER to get here, use the lication as 59 Rue des Dominicaines, OTHERWISE Hotel Massilia will give you a wrong kication and you will get charged extra by the driver. FAIR WARNING. I believe this hostel is excellent value. The continental breakfast is adequate - but iverpriced at 10.50€. Nice to have milk with the cereal (Corn Flakes??). Nice baguettes to slice. Some days they have warm croissants. Various cheeses - each wrapped as a single serving. Fresh fruit. Bottled juices too. Coffee machine. The room was xmall, but nice for a single traveller. Good bathroom/wetroom actually - no shower enclosure. They provide dixposable slippers to use while showering so you don't slip. I did not use that shower, but sat on the floor instead. Still adequate. 😉 Ģood value. Safe, very quiet and immaculate - very clean. Hot water kettle cups and tea bags/coffee sachels was nice to gave in my room. A 10 minute walk down the nearby main street (turn L at hotel entrance, walk 50m to main street then turn right and walk maybe 100 meters) gets you to a Turkish-run grill (Sar?? Grill) with a good non-gourmet style of good food."
