"Although basic with rooms on the smaller size the hotel was well managed with super friendly staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The setting was perfect for a quick and easy walk to most places in Marseilles."

"DO NOT stay here. They cancelled our booking one day before arrival without a reason why. They’ve refused to answer the phone and did not respond to an email sent by my provider. I will NOT stay at an Ibis hotel again due to the lack of respect for its customers and lack of service. If they had contacted me fine, if they needed payment, contact me? Don’t cancel?"

"I paid just under £80 a night for a Friday night in early September and was pleasantly surprised at the location and value for money. Very friendly staff on reception when checking in. My room was on the 7th floor. I think all rooms on this floor are built into the roof eaves so there was only a velux/skylight window. You couldn’t see out unless you stood on a chair – I did this and could see the old port. Room was very clean. Room didn’t have a fridge, kettle, safe or cupboards etc. It was small but perfectly adequate for a night or two. Location is brilliant – you’re only a couple of minutes from the old port with heaps of restaurants and ferries etc. I also walked to the Basilica Notre Dame de la Garde which was about 25 minutes uphill from the hotel - or take bus 60. Breakfast was €8.90 and it was great value with plenty of choice including scrambled eggs, cold meats and cheese, croissants, mini pancakes and pastries, yoghurts, fruit compôtes etc. Hotel is very close to a square with lots of alfresco dining – rooms facing on to it can be a bit noisy at night. I would definitely stay here again."
