Amista Marseille

"My first impression when we arrived here very late, having waited over an hour for a taxi at Marseille airport, after our Uber failed to show up, was quite negative. The taxi couldn't drop us outside the hotel, so dropped us on a very dark and quite dodgy street nearby at 1.30am. The hotel reception area is tiny and basic, but we were warmly welcomed. Our first room on the 5th floor did have a lovely balcony, but was very small and the dark decor made it feel very claustrophobic. There was a tiny wardrobe that might have fitted clothes for a night or two, nowhere to put the suitcases and the bathroom was the smallest I've ever seen in a hotel, with almost no shelf space. It would possibly have been ok for a 2 night break but we were there for a week for both pleasure and business. Zoe on reception arranged for us to move to a much larger room on the first floor the day after we arrived and we paid an additional charge. This room was much better, bright and airy, a very large bathroom and a similar balcony to our first room. The breakfast in the cafe downstairs was wonderful and the staff, without exception, were all so helpful, welcoming and cheerful. After a somewhat negative first night, the rest of our stay was wonderful. Thank you to Zoe and all the staff."

"Stayed here for a solo trip. Hotel is recently renovated and rooms are excellent - comfortable bed, good shower, quiet. Had a nice balcony to the rear of the property too. Staff were lovely - really helpful."
