"So great location, great staff, concierge very helpful. Bikes excellent Valet parking. Pool is nowhere near as big as photos. Breakfast expensive. Aircon non existent, was 28 in room."

"Avoid at all costs . We stayed less than 2 hours This is NOT a five star hotel . The pool is the size of a plunge pool there is about 6 sunbeds around it and people waiting desperately to grab one . When we arrived we were horrified there was a large group of people standing drinking beer from glasses in the pool and shouting and swearing people carrying bags of food from a sandwich shop to eat around the pool. The rooms are dull dark and very corporate - not in a good way We left after two hours it was an awful experience . Thankfully the young manager was helpful in accommodating our request to leave and we were only booked for one night . I felt very sorry for some of the poor guests that had several days of the horror .to endure"

"This is a top notch hotel in every way. We ended up having to stay in La Rochelle at the last minute because of wild fires in the Landes, where we were due to meet family. It was easy to book a room online. A member of staff called us within an hour of the online booking to let us know that the hotel car park was full and advised us where to park (Place Verdun, a short walk away). Upon arrival, the reception staff were exceptionally helpful and it turned out that we had been upgraded to a suite (at the price of a standard room). The suite was beautiful and v quiet (6th floor, facing into the courtyard). The building itself is a 20thC one nestled within the framework of a much older one. It is in the centre of La Rochelle, so v easy access to everything this gorgeous town has to offer. The breakfast was excellent and all delivered with a smile. One of the receptionists we dealt with was able to recommend restaurants for dinner which did not disappoint. All in all, a brilliant experience."
