Hotel Henri IV

"We stayed here traveling through France, this is a lovely hotel right in the centre of La Rochelle town with endless bars and restaurants, few minutes walk to the port. When we arrived the town was very busy, we had room 30 and it was very quiet. Very clean and comfy bed, WiFi. Owner was very welcoming and spoke very good English. Let us kindly leave our bags after checkout so we could explore more before leaving in the afternoon. Would definitely use again."

"This is a great budget hotel that couldn’t be closer to the harbour. The rooms are spotless and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s not luxury but at the price it is it’s great value for money. It does a breakfast but I didn’t partake. "

"My friend and I booked this hotel due to its budget price and central location. The location was great and there’s lovely shops and restaurants nearby. However, that is probably the only good thing about this hotel. On arrival there was nobody at the reception of the hotel, when we rang nobody answered so we waited 30 minutes before anybody came to help us. When the receptionist came, although we requested an early check in via email, the receptionist had not arranged it for us. They also had nowhere to store our luggage and weren’t the friendliest of staff. The room itself had no toilet or shower, and the window would not open. Thus, the room was incredibly claustrophobic. There was a communal toilet and shower, in which on one occasion I was locked into because the lock is stiff. Overall, we had an extremely poor experience in this hotel. I wouldn’t stay here again. But I would look at hotels in a similar location. "
