"This budget hotel wins due to its very friendly staff, air conditioning, $7 breakfast, and perfect location. Views from Room 12 (top floor) were great. Very good value, would stay again."

"I had an absolute hellish time getting from Boston to La Rochelle (thanks British Airways and American) and I had to miss my first night in La Rochelle. I called to make sure that my room wasn't given away and the people I talked with both on the phone and in person were so nice. The hotel is in a great location, cute and clean. No AC but a very powerful fan kept things cool(ish). It was literally 2.5 days until I laid down in a bed to sleep after that craziness. I didn't have breakfast and my time was now reduced to a meager 13 hrs in La Rochelle, but the town was cute and I'd go back (well maybe, I think I'm scarred from that trip)."

"We came to the Hotel De Ocean restaurant for a bite to eat today The menu was only available in French and although we have a basic few words of French I asked the waiter if he had an English menu to which he replied “ can you not GOOGLE TRANSLATE the menu !!!!!!! How rude is that ? At a guess 70% of visitors to La Rochelle are English speaking We only wanted a bit of assistance explaining some items on the menu Well done Hotel De l Ocean"
