Sainte-Maxime Holidays

Across the bay from Saint Tropez

Steeped in history and culture, this unique seaside town on the French Riviera offers a mix of Mediterranean beauty, old-world charm and vibrant modern life. Located right across the bay from Saint-Tropez, it provides an elegant yet less crowded alternative to its famous neighbour, while still boasting golden beaches, scenic promenades, and lively markets – Sainte-Maxime is Saint-Tropez’s less showy little sister.

If you want to get some sand between your toes, the town’s Plage de la Nartelle is a highlight, known for its soft sand and crystal-clear waters, perfect for swimming and sunbathing. The old town’s filled with quaint boutiques, cafés, and restaurants, where you can sample Provençal cuisine, fresh seafood, and local rosé wines. For a dose of culture, the Musée de la Tour Carrée offers a glimpse into the town’s history.

For outdoor enthusiasts, you explore the Massif des Maures, ideal for hiking and cycling, while golfers can play a round or two at the Sainte-Maxime Golf Club. If you fancy dipping into the nearby glitz, a quick ferry ride connects you to Saint-Tropez, making day trips effortless. With its bustling marina, vibrant nightlife, and year-round sunshine, Sainte-Maxime is an ideal Riviera retreat for both relaxation and adventure.
