Marina days, castle views and Riviera sunshine
Considered one of the most beautiful seaside resorts on the French Riviera, Mandelieu-la-Napoule is one of those French Riviera spots that feels like it knows how to holiday properly. Just west of Cannes, it mixes marinas, sandy beaches and a more laid-back rhythm than some of its glitzier neighbours. You’ve got the Mediterranean on one side, the Esterel hills on the other, and a town threaded with canals, golf courses and sea-view strolls in between. It’s also known as the mimosa capital, which tells you a lot about the mood here: colourful, fragrant and very good at showing off.
Beach time is a big part of the draw, with seven sandy beaches to choose from, including sporty, family-friendly stretches and the lovely Plage du Château beside the waterfront castle. That castle, Château de La Napoule, is one of Mandelieu’s signature sights, bringing a little storybook drama to the shoreline.
Beyond the sand, there’s golf, watersports, boat-watching and easy access to hiking around Mont San Peyre and the wider Esterel landscapes. Mandelieu is a smart Riviera pick if you want sunshine, sea views and a little more breathing space. Go for the beach, stay for the easy elegance, and let the Côte d’Azur do the flirting.
