"In a destination defined by heritage façades and old-world glamour, JW Marriott Cannes confidently positions itself as the most compelling contemporary luxury address on the Croisette.
My stay at JW Marriott Cannes was a truly impressive experience and, without hesitation, the most compelling modern luxury offering in Cannes for me.
The experience begins at the Sky Lobby — which may feel slightly unconventional on first encounter, but very quickly reveals itself as one of the hotel’s strongest USPs. It creates an immediate sense of exclusivity, privacy, and distinction, setting the property apart from traditional hotel layouts.
One of the most remarkable highlights of this hotel is its breakfast experience at Scalini, the hotel’s signature Italian restaurant. Having travelled extensively and stayed at 90–100 hotels across the GCC, Asia, and Europe, I can confidently say this is the first time I have seen breakfast served in a speciality restaurant — particularly in Europe. The spread was not only rich and beautifully curated, but also among the most iconic and lavish breakfast experiences I have ever encountered. As a pure vegetarian, I felt every detail had been thoughtfully considered, leaving absolutely nothing wanting.
During check-in, I initially faced a room-related issue and was allocated a Level 6 balcony room. While the balcony was pleasant, the location felt somewhat secluded from the main hotel flow and had a lower ceiling. Thanks to the efficiency and warmth of the check-in team — especially a wonderful lady from Ecuador (whose name I regretfully cannot recall) — I was swiftly relocated to an accessible room on the 3rd floor, which turned out to be an absolute superhit.
The room experience deserves special recognition. This was by far one of the most modern and contemporary rooms I have experienced anywhere in Europe. The design was lean, elegant, and sophisticated — a refreshing contrast to the typically compact European room layouts. While I am accustomed to GCC standards and often find European rooms underwhelming in size, this room was exceptionally generous, in fact larger than suites in many European hotels.
The layout was intelligent and purposeful, with ample wardrobe space, a well-planned seating area with couches and table, and truly extravagant linens. Having stayed at several hotels in Cannes over the years, this room stood out distinctly for its modern concept, scale, and functionality.
In terms of location, JW Marriott enjoys what I believe is the most central position on the Croisette. While hotels like Barrière sit directly opposite the Palais des Festivals, that location feels more cornered. Here, you genuinely feel at the heart of Cannes — perfectly placed for both leisure and exploration.
The presence of an excellent casino within the complex further enhances the overall experience, adding a layer of entertainment and vibrancy.
Housekeeping at JW Marriott Cannes is truly outstanding. Without exaggeration, the team attended to the room three to four times a day, consistently refreshing and arranging everything seamlessly — often without any request. This level of attentiveness genuinely stood out and reflects strong operational leadership.
If I were to return to Cannes, there is no question where I would stay again. For me, nothing currently surpasses JW Marriott Cannes in terms of modernity, comfort, location, and overall experience.
A truly modern and contemporary luxury hotel, setting a benchmark on the Croisette."
