"Hôtel Martinez is a truly luxurious hotel in an excellent location in Cannes. The staff were wonderful, professional and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was elegant and very enjoyable. Everything about the stay felt refined and well managed, and the private beach was especially beautiful and added so much to the experience. A wonderful hotel with great service, a fantastic location and a very special atmosphere. Highly recommended."

"I made a non-refundable reservation directly through Hôtel Martinez’s official website. Only afterwards did I discover, quite unexpectedly, that the hotel’s own beach would be closed during the dates of our stay. At the very least, this should have been clearly communicated on the official booking website, for example through a pop-up warning before completing a non-refundable reservation. I contacted the hotel and requested that my reservation be cancelled without penalty. The following day, I received a reply saying this would not be possible. I then sent a more detailed email and was told they would get back to me. Unfortunately, the responses were so slow that by the time our stay was approaching, other hotels were either fully booked or only had very expensive suites available. As a result, I had little choice but to keep my reservation and asked that, at the very least, our room be upgraded. The same representative replied that they were pleased with my decision to stay and sent me an email confirming that our room had been upgraded. However, when we arrived at the hotel, the receptionist told us that there were no rooms available for an upgrade and that, despite the written confirmation, they could not honour it. Someone from Guest Relations then came to speak with us and gave us the usual corporate response. I asked that they at least provide us with a late check-out on our departure day, which they did. Apart from our room, I found the hotel very dirty during our stay. There was an extremely unpleasant smell in the corridors, and both the elevators and the lobby were very dirty. Overall, it felt more like a low-category hotel than a luxury property in Cannes. The swimming pool was no bigger than a residential pool. On departure, we called for a bellboy to collect our luggage. After waiting more than 40 minutes, nobody arrived, so we carried our luggage down ourselves. There is simply no compensation for these three disappointing nights. I will not stay at another Hyatt Group hotel again, nor would I recommend one to anyone close to me. It made for a very mediocre Cannes holiday, and I deeply regret not staying at the Carlton, where I had stayed on previous visits."
