Golden Tulip Cannes Hotel De Paris

"We stayed at Golden Tulip Cannes as a family of five and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. When we arrived after a long day of travelling, we discovered that there was no hot water in our apartment. We contacted reception immediately, and a staff member came to the apartment and confirmed that the water heater had not been switched on before our arrival. We were told it would take approximately 3.5–4 hours before hot water would be available. As a result, neither we nor our three young children were able to take a shower before going to bed. Having access to hot water is one of the most basic expectations when checking into a hotel, and it was very frustrating that the accommodation had not been properly prepared before our arrival. The staff responded promptly once we reported the issue, and we appreciate that. However, this did not change the fact that our first evening was significantly affected. What disappointed us even more was the hotel’s handling of the complaint afterwards. Although they acknowledged in writing that the water heater had not been switched on before our arrival, they refused to offer any meaningful compensation. They later stated that the complimentary breakfast we received was intended as compensation, but this was never communicated to us during our stay. Mistakes can happen in any hotel. What matters is how they are resolved. Unfortunately, we do not feel that the hotel took sufficient responsibility for the inconvenience caused. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this hotel."

"As a group of four women, we generally enjoyed our stay at the hotel. However, there is clearly an ongoing issue that the hotel appears to be aware of regarding ventilation and condensation in the four-occupancy rooms. The ventilation is simply not sufficient to handle four separate showers, which resulted in significant condensation build-up. Because of this, the walls both adjacent to and opposite the bathroom became marked with visible water streaks (photo attached). It is hard to believe this has not happened before, and it seems likely the hotel is aware of the issue. Unfortunately, it feels as though this situation may be used as a reason to retain guests’ security deposits. The marks appeared three days into our five-night stay. Our room was cleaned daily, so housekeeping would have seen the issue developing. However, we were not informed at any point during our stay that this would be considered our responsibility. We were only made aware of it at checkout. While we did have an otherwise pleasant stay, the handling of this situation has left us disappointed and has tarnished our overall experience. When we asked for evidence of how these marks could have been caused by anything other than water condensation, the hotel have stopped replying to our emails and are refusing to send back our deposit. I would advise future guests to be particularly cautious regarding shower use, condensation, and potential water marks."

"Pros: Duplex room we booked was dated and not good so we were moved. The lady and man on check-in were great, the young man was also great with bar service etc. Walkable to the beach and shops, restaurants etc Pool area was nice (but loud with car noises as on a busy road) Negatives: Room we moved too was TINY. No door on the toilet which made privacy very hard Balcony was completely blocked so couldn’t see anything other than a wall Breakfast was not good so we skipped this and went to local patisserie Lady on check-out was quite defensive when I asked for a receipt to check for extra payments being asked. I just wanted a quick run through not an argument! Daily shampoo and body washes weren’t refilled once during our entire stay Entire hotel felt dated and uncared for"
