Sheraton Sharm Hotel Resort Villas and Spa

"I wasn’t overly impressed with this hotel. The resort is definitely showing its age and I think probably relies upon its great location at the expense of a better customer experience. The food was average in comparison to some Sharm resorts I’ve been to in the past and the variety wasn’t great. It was also a noisy hotel, not because it was busy (it wasn’t), but because of its construction. Its concrete and stone build meant that you could hear people coming down your corridor from miles away (very echoey). The rooms also had thin interconnected doors so it was easy to hear your neighbours TV or music as well. The ‘entertainment’ was on the top floor where the lobby was situated, on the balcony where you could go and sit to eat. As such if you were unfortunate enough to have a room directly below (or anywhere close), you could hear the music all evening. On one night the hotel set up a ‘disco’ down by the beach with speakers pointed directly at the rooms. After listening to drum and base anthems for nearly three hours - the decibel levels were like a Wembley concert - I was about ready to go down and pull the plug. Hardly anyone seemed to be there and I expect for most of the largely older guests it was just a massive nuisance. Thank goodness it was only one evening! Finally, the fire alarms went off at least three times, once at 5am, because guests were smoking in their rooms. On the plus side, the hotel has a very large private beach (although the sun loungers were very very very old and not in great supply) and beautiful sea views. The adults pool was also very pleasant, quiet all day, with newer sun loungers and parasols and the bar staff were brilliant (shout out to Karim). Whilst I expect there is little the resort can do to soundproof its rooms, I would urge them to get rid of their beach disco and move their other entertainment to another part of the complex, away from guest rooms. They could also take a look at what other local resorts are doing to improve their food offerings such as themed evenings etc. If they did that, it’s a resort I would consider staying at again, but this resort definitely needs money spent on it and at the moment it’s a no."

"Another lovely stay at the Sheraton hotel. The staff are the absolute stars of this hotel. Everywhere you go you meet another amazing member of staff. Ahmed at the restaurant always a pleasure helping us in every way possible with a great big smile. Remembered us from the year before, a super star. Karim tariq at the adult pool bar constantly bringing us drinks nothing is too much trouble. Very friendly. Great drinks beautifully decorated. Ibrahim hassam the jetty life guard full of information and constantly helping people. Highly recommend snorkelling off the jetty amazing selection of sealife. We saw something new with every visit. Mostafa The singing life guard always a delight massive smile and radiates happiness. Fares Our room cleaner delighted us everyday with a spotless room and amazing towel creations. Again nothing was too much trouble. Room 329 Alaa (blue eyes) started at the pool with us then moved to lobby bar, always looking out for us, highly recommend the iced coffee with chocolate and cocktails. If ur after a massage find Bilal from the spar wandering around the result. Lovely guy and will give u a great deal. The hotel itself is improving every time we go. We throughly enjoyed the new adult pool and beach bar. Food is fine as with every all inclusive it gets a bit Samey as u get towards the end of ur stay. But they are definitely trying to cater for a big mixture of nationality’s and we felt it had improved since the last time we came. Dias omelettes always a highlight at b’fast. I Would encourage people to use inDrive app to get around Sharm. We used it multiple times and was so much cheaper than the in house taxi service. Overall an amazing stay I would throughly recommend this hotel and have already booked for next year."

"After reading all the positive reviews before our trip we booked our 11 night visit. The hotel itself is fabulous, beautiful decor and lovely rooms. Fresh bottled water every day, tea and coffee in the rooms, clean towels every day. Nothing is too much trouble. However, we found the food limiting for Europeans, most of the food was labelled but not all so we didn’t know what we were eating. You could ask the waiters but their English was limited. After a few days we both became very poorly, severe stomach bug, putting it mildly, to the point of being put on a drip. The doctor in the hotel was brilliant, however it spoilt our holiday as were unable to do anything. We weren’t the only ones! Unsure if it was the water, under no circumstances ingest the water, food or air conditioning. Thanks to the restaurant manager who arranged for the chef to cook special meals for us so we could eat something. The pharmacist delivered medication to the hotel for us. There is a big problem with crows causing a nuisance on the terrace. They would sit above and defecate everywhere and swoop to down pinch your food when you leave your table. They are also on the beach. Not particularly hygienic!! Couldn’t fault the bar and table service, special thanks to Alaa by the pool who looking after us brilliantly. The entertainment wasn’t great. Not much to do in the evenings. The mid day snacks were very limited which was disappointing. We did feel very safe and secure during our stay. Having returned home we have been advised it will take a couple of weeks to get better. Not a great holiday sadly."
