"This hotel WILL be lovely …….
Stayed for 7 nights first week in March, had read posts on TA and FB sharing pictures of works being carried out, so contacted easyJet holidays who told us it was maintenance works and our holiday would not be affected (this is an issue I am taking up with easyJet but they are ignoring my emails at present!)
When we checked in, they checked us in to the bungalows around the back of the complex ….. big rooms, very dated, but clean and comfortable rooms, there were 8 of us so 4 rooms and every room the baths leaked so the floor was like a swimming pool every time we showered. Hairdryer on wall in bathroom, safe and fridge, kettle. Overlooking the side pool so a nice view. These rooms are being upgraded this year we were told.
We had booked rooms in the main hotel but in daylight we realised why we weren’t in there., lots of guests were though. The whole pool area at the front of the hotel was a building site, diggers, tractors the lot, sectioned off with white hoarding and every pool was empty and being retitled, refurbed, this wasn’t general maintenance this was a rebuild. So all pools/slides were cut off and out of use.
As we were walking round hotel a guy from the spa asked us if we would like a treatment. He had to take us through the building site to get there. The spa had been open 3 days and it was stunning. 7 out of 8 of us had treatments and they were all lovely.
Restaurants - main buffet, good choice of food, staff were lovely and service in there was excellent. Have outside dining tables which were by the stage so was excellent way to watch entertainment after evening meal without having to rush meal and make to another part of the hotel. Have been to many all inclusives and this was the best layout I’ve experienced.
À la carte restaurant - Lebanese was lovely, Italian was awful (service and food) as was the fish restaurant, oriental was good too not what we were expecting but very enjoyable.
Drinks were ok, not amazing but we were all happy and we drink, a lot! Waiter service round pool which was good.
We chose this hotel over the sister hotel because of the lazy river and the amount of pools, so we chose a dated hotel over a modern hotel but that backfired, as it was a building site at the front. I was videoing the works and was told aggressively by a worker to delete the video (I didn’t). We ate in the fish restaurant whilst listening to them welding, we made a joke and said it was our own private fire work display. Even eating in the buffet we could hear the works being done til 10pm.
This hotel will be lovely when the works are finished, it’s a major refit and they’ve started on some of the pool view rooms which are looking lovely.
The staff are excellent, friendly, it’s not their fault the place is being refurbed but I do blame easyJet for not informing us when we booked 6 weeks prior to departure and then when I asked they told me it was general maintenance works.
Yes the shop is expensive but it’s a hotel shop, get a cab to town if you would prefer.
Pool staff and guys at the bar were all great as were the animation team.
The hotel is 95% Russian guests at the moment. Jet2 are promoting for 2027 so think will be more English and the hotel will be completely renovated by then so I would in the future recommend this hotel.
Such a shame the works were so extensive for our trip.
The boys enjoyed the golf which was the reason we booked this resort.
A few nights they sprayed the resort with mozzy spray, wow, what a shock that was. The noise, the smoke the smell early evening, but it worked as never got bitten.
Beach area, is a jetty which you have to climb down to get in the sea, not for people unsteady on their feet no sandy beach - we never spent time there as we are pool people.
All in all we made the best of a bad situation which EasyJet should never have put us in, the hotel tried to appease us and they wanted us to sign a disclaimer which we refused, disgraceful of easyJet sadly!"
