"English family recently returned home after 8 nights at this hotel. Can't fault the location, pools and rooms. Rooms cleaned everyday and constant flow of bottled water. Pools all great and lots of room, no fighting over sun beds. Water park was really good but only open for 5 hours a day. 10-12 and 2-5. Wasn't a massive issue and assume because its so hot in between. Wave pool only on twice a day for 15 minutes. Access to other hotels allowed us to use the beach and do some snorkeling and can use most of the facilities at these hotels too apart from meals. So close to the airport and Soho Square for shopping, restaurants and camel rides. Food and drink was a massive let down for us. Although there was a varied selection, there was not a lot that we found appetising, the breakfast selection was very poor. The main restaurant is huge but the actual food area is tiny so quite often you would be greeted with a stampede of people all trying to get to food and on a couple of occasions our kids were pushed into or moved out the way by the sheer volume as everyone acts like they havent eaten for month and are going to miss out. By the 5th day of the holiday I had a dodgy tummy and am still suffering since coming home. I dont know if it was the food or because salad and fruit was washed in tap water but I have been back and forth to the toilet for the best part of 6 days now and Imodium is not touching it. The drinks for all inclusive were disappointing, only get wine if you are in the restaurant not from any of the bars within the resort and the cocktails were very rushed and not enticing, quite often served in a tiny plastic cup and depending on which waiter you got, you could end up with a completely different cocktail even if you ordered the same thing. There are quite a lot of people trying to sell stuff to you around the pool and whilst I understand they are trying to make a living, it can be quite annoying after a few days. The expectation of tips is also a bit much, I also understand it is part of the culture out there but when they forget to replenish your towels and then bring them down to you and the person stands there waiting for a tip, it is a bit cheeky when it was their mistake. Waiters offer to take drinks or food to your table, and you think they are being helpful but then want a tip for it. This may just be my personal preference but we gave tips when we thought they were doing something extra or something we've specifically asked for on top. Not just their actual jobs. The entertainment was fairly basic in the evenings, although its not something we were massively interested in. There are a good team of people trying to get everyone involved in things around the pool during the day which again, we didnt take part in much. They put on a little foam party on the Saturday afternoon which my daughter loved. There are a la carte restaurants to book at, we stupidly didnt book til a few days in so only had the option of the Italian, although it was still buffet style, it was one of the best evenings of food we had. And the waiters in there were very good with replenishing drinks and bringing extra food to the table. So would definitely recommend booking these as soon as you arrive as I think the other ones had actual menus to choose from. All in all, was a good holiday but lots to improve on and obviously the fact I'm suffering from something I've eaten/drunk had put a bit of a downer on it for me."
