Luxurious beachfront getaway
Whether you’re travelling as a family with little ones in tow, or planning a romantic escape just for the two of you, Sunrise Montemare Resort ticks all the beach holiday boxes. With a prime spot right on the beachfront – and a private stretch of sand that slopes into the Gulf of Aqaba – the setting is just the first of many things to love about this place.
For lazy days spent by the pool, you’ll find there are four scattered across the grounds of the hotel, plus an extra one just for the kids. Elsewhere the hotel lines up more activities than you could shake a stick at. There’s everything from tennis, volleyball and minigolf, to sailing, snorkelling and boat trips on offer here. If you need a bit of R&R, pack the kids off to the kids’ club and take yourself to the spa for the afternoon. Spend a few hours relaxing in the sauna, or why not treat yourself to a massage?
When it comes to wining and dining, the hotel really goes big. There are eight restaurants to choose from – a different one every night of the week. The main restaurant is a buffet affair of international options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Elsewhere you’ve got a couple of à la carte places serving up Asian, Italian, Egyptian, and seafood eats. There’s a steakhouse and a joint specialising in light bites, too, so you’ll be sure to find something to suit everyone’s tastes.
On top of all that, you’ll have the choice of seven bars when it comes to a tipple. There’s one down at the beach for those days spent relaxing on the sands, and a couple within shouting distance of the pools, so you won’t have to wander too far from your sun lounger. In the evenings you can head to the shisha bar with its laidback vibe, before moving inside to the lobby bar for a nightcap.
