A Red Sea retreat for the whole family
It might be named Old Palace Resort Sahl Hasheesh, but there’s nothing ancient about this vibrant hotel in sun-soaked Hurghada. It’s perfectly set up for families thanks to a variety of top-notch facilities and is just steps away from the shores of the Red Sea.
Two pools – including one with an outdoor Jacuzzi and another boasting a children’s area – ensure everyone can enjoy a dip whenever it takes their fancy. Nearby you’ll find a sandy stretch of beach where you can indulge in a bit of sunbathing, and the Old Town is just a 10-minute stroll from the hotel.
Grown-ups, meanwhile, can spoil themselves at the hotel spa. Think sauna, hot tub, steam bath, and invigorating massages to help refresh your mind and body. Or you can always work up a sweat in the gym – it’s full of state-of-the-art equipment to ensure guests can keep on top their fitness routine.
Little ones shouldn’t feel let out, though. The mini club is open for ages 4 to 12 and is packed with fun things to do throughout the day. Plus, with a buffet restaurant and two à la cartes (specialising in Brazilian and Italian cuisine), neither kids or adults stay hungry for long at this fantastic hotel.

Find out more about Sahl Hasheesh
The resort's first-class hotels keep their spots on the 12.5 kilometres of uninterrupted sand in pristine condition. From these perfect grains, an elegant pier stretches out over 400 metres of glimmering water to a Sunken City - a fascinating replica of an ancient underwater ruin that's a playground for colourful marine life. More reefs and isles are waiting to be discovered just off the coast, including the protected Abu Hasheesh Island. It's a delightfully serene spot but there's still plenty of action in the Old Town and its ravishing Arrival Piazza which shimmers after dark with ornate lanterns and neon lamps.
