Make the most of Makadi Bay

Pitched up close to the shores of Makadi Bay, with a front row seat to the Red Sea, it’s easy to see why Cleopatra Luxury Resort is a firm favourite. Whether you’re an action-loving adventurer or someone craving a week spent in the slow lane, you’ll manage it with ease here – this place is stacked to the rafters with activities and facilities.

It starts with the pool scene – which is top notch. Choose from four, which are dotted amongst the gardens that sit between the hotel and the sea. With options for relaxing, splashing about with the kids, and getting stuck into some water-based activities, there’s a pool to suit everyone – as well as a nearby bar to keep you fed and watered. If aqua aerobics aren’t your bag, the team lays on a load of activities on dry land, too. Think yoga, beach volleyball, and archery.

Find out more about Makadi Bay

Just 30 kilometres down the coast from Hurghada, this good-looking resort is a holidaymaker's heaven on the Red Sea Riviera. Holidays to Makadi Bay are particularly popular for families with children thanks to its rather unique entertainment attractions.

Studded with hotels and spas, it's one of the newer resorts on the block and features a relaxed atmosphere with a gentler vibe than Hurghada. Yet, there's plenty on offer for all ages and stages. Fine sandy beaches stretch tranquilly into waters that are just brimming with colourful corals and fascinating marine life. It's one of the area's best spots for exploring underwater, with caves, reefs and islands lying just off shore and a plethora of scuba and snorkelling shops back on land. Young ones - and those young at heart - will flip out for Egypt's biggest aquapark while Mini Egypt's charming miniature replicas will keep everyone happy for an afternoon at least.
