Right on the waterfront in the yacht-lined Abu Tig Marina – one of the most vibrant and happening areas in El Gouna, with an abundance of places to eat, drink and shop – the Captain’s Inn is an ideal choice if you’re after an Egyptian getaway that isn’t just about sunbathing on the beach.
This is a lively and vibrant area, particularly at night, so allow yourself ample time to stroll along the promenade and soak it all up. Guests are free to use the pool at the nearby Pasha hotel, too, which is just a couple of minutes away. Alternatively, head down to the Marina Beach Club, where you’ll find plenty of sun loungers and parasols on a 400-metre strip of soft, golden sand.
Breakfast is served at nearby Yamas Restaurant in the mornings, with an extensive à la carte menu available for dinner later on. In the evenings, The Tap South is the place to be for craft beers, cocktails and pub grub, accompanied by live music and a buzzy atmosphere.
