Captain's Inn

Right on the waterfront in the yacht-lined Abu Tig Marina – one of the most vibrant and happening areas in El Gouna, with an abundance of places to eat, drink and shop – the Captain’s Inn is an ideal choice if you’re after an Egyptian getaway that isn’t just about sunbathing on the beach. There’s a palpable energy about this area, particularly at night, so be sure to allow yourself ample time to stroll along the promenade and soak it all up. 

Although the hotel doesn’t have its own swimming pool, you can use the ones at the Ali Pasha hotel that’s just a couple of minutes away. Alternatively, head down to the Marina Beach Club, where you’ll find plenty of sun loungers and parasols on a 400-metre strip of soft, golden sand – the perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying refreshing dips in the crystal clear Red Sea.

A plentiful buffet breakfast is served at the Marina Steakhouse in the mornings, with an extensive à la carte menu available for dinner later on. In the evenings, The Tap South is the place to be for craft beers, cocktails and pub grub, accompanied by live music and a buzzy atmosphere.
