Tolip Hotel Gardens

"I stayed at this hotel recently as part of an organised tour of Egypt - Nile cruise and Cairo. Everything was fantastic apart from the Tolip Gardens Hotel. I paid a single supplement and was allocated a large room with sitting area on the fifth floor. Although the bathroom and bed linen were clean, paint was flaking off the walls onto the carpet, the furniture covers were stained, the small tables were dusty and the carpet had not been vacuumed in good while - it was filthy. The towels were old and rough and there was no complimentary bathrobe or slippers. I reported the state of the room to the receptionist who apologised and promised it would rectified, but after reporting it again the following day, when I left 3 days later the carpet was in the same dirty state. The food was mediocre to say the least, restaurant staff were indifferent and there wasn't even a coffee dispensing machine, just weak insipid coffee from a jug or Nescafé sachets. The reception hall is very elegant and it was probably a very good 5 star hotel in its day, but sadly the rooms are in dire need of an upgrade now. Extremely disappointing!"

"I visited to ask about booking a venue, and the sales/events team were very rude and unprofessional. They didn’t provide clear information and showed no interest in helping. This experience alone made me decide not to book with this hotel. Management should improve their customer service"

"Rooms are not clean and there is smoke blowing into the room. Stay here if you want to breathe in second hand smoke for the entire night while you sleep."
