"I booked Cleopatra Tower Pyramid View through Booking and was really looking forward to the stay. Since we were arriving in the early hours of Saturday around 3 am, I contacted Ahmed in advance and booked the night before as well — meaning I paid from Friday to ensure we could check in straight after our long journey. Ahmed confirmed this was no problem, although he kept pushing me to book a taxi through him, which I didn’t need.
After a long flight and very little sleep, we finally arrived — only to find the young receptionist asleep at the desk. Once we woke him up, he informed us that our booking had been canceled at midnight because we “didn’t show up on Friday.” This, despite my clear communication with Ahmed. The receptionist called Ahmed, who was completely unhelpful and just said “there’s nothing we can do now.”
It felt like our room was given away to someone else, likely due to the Giza festival and higher rates. Absolutely unacceptable. The room was canceled despite everything being discussed in advance.
I would strongly advise against booking here — it’s a big risk. Being left without a room at 3 am in a foreign city after a confirmed and paid booking is beyond frustrating. Definitely not how anyone wants to start their trip in Cairo."
