"We used to live then stay in one of the roads behind here, but the owners had sold that place, and we decided to visit as we knew the area was perfectly situated and had friends locally that recommended here. I heard a few moans, one was it was in the middle of nowhere, from a woman younger than me, well, the Tomb of the Kings is the second tourist area, not that I would know, I have only visited this area about 50 times and lived there for a couple of years, sometimes staying for a month or once two. The woman wouldn't listen to me. The Kings Avenue Mall, is about a KM, takes 15 minutes dawdle, I know I have done it more times than I can remember. There are some good places to eat and a few ex pat bars along the road. The bus station has been moved from the front and is now about than 100m away, what else could you want. Oh, The Elysium, not quite the same price though, one is £52 for a tonight, the other £312, guess which. and that is about 150m away.
My wife thought it charming, it is our new favourite place to stay, not just in Cyprus. I was even surprised the aircon was free, we tend not to use it as we like to acclimatise a bit, other places of this rating tend to charge. Shower and bath room were excellent and we noticed that even when we got up early there was hot water, which is often not the case as everywhere uses solar heaters and some do not switch on the electric backup. The beds were really high quality, I know the make. The maids were lovely and we left a tip and thank you for them, the towels were changed about every 3 days, which seeing as you put them out on the balcony they were dry in about 30 minutes some went unused. Cannot fault the place. We are not the sort for hanging round the pool, but I had a look and very nice (The picture of the underground pool being a bit unattended, well yes, it was still more than hot enough to swim in the outside pool, a bit disingenuous as it was closed, I just went for a look, winter only, I assume.) We left on October 13th and the pool / sea was like a cooling bath. Staff very friendly, great for a chat, if I say 118 they will recognise us, they used our name but we were in and out asking for the key. If you want a base, nothing better, clean, friendly, kitchen; a small hob/oven, microwave, toaster, kettle and a fridge with small freezer, a good sink, more than enough crockery, cutlery and other utensils. I honestly cannot see why anyone could complain. We spoke to another couple of couples, one, a Scots couple have been 17 times to the same place and are treated like friends, they were at a loss. Said the same as me, if you want the Elysium, pay for it."
