"We went as a mid 20s couple in mid October. We were very worried about coming due to the reviews and half of the good ones seeming ai generated. We got very lucky with the weather. Room was exactly how it looked online and was always kept clean by the cleaners. The food wasn’t amazing but you are paying 3 star prices. The pool was freezing this time of year so most people barely went in but the sea was bearable and is only 15 m from the hotel across the stony beach. Cocktails were nice, a range of tequila sunrise, mojito, Long Island iced tea and Aperol spirits. Taxis to the next town over, makarska were easy to get from the desk and €18 each way although buses run Monday to Friday. They had live music twice a week and then a quiz a few times. Saw a review about smell of smoke everywhere, only really experienced this in certain locations outside in the evening but could easily avoid it, and also saw it described as “a morbid atmosphere” which I completely disagree. A great holiday over all with little complaints."

"We have recently returned from two weeks at the Bluesun Neptun in Tučepi and have had a lovely holiday. Our experience seems to have pretty much matched the opinions of reviewer Tsl2014 below who reviewed it on 2 Oct. We, too, were a bit apprehensive after reading a few negative reviews but had done our research and decided that most of the negatives reported probably wouldn’t bother us too much so kept our fingers crossed and went ahead and booked. I’m so glad we did as everything has mostly exceeded our expectations. As Tsl2014 states I think some people have unrealistic expectations when booking somewhere that caters to thousands of guests every year - especially on an all inclusive basis with virtually non stop food and drink all day and night. Yes, perhaps if we’d paid three times as much for high season then we could have been a little bit more picky but the positives far outweighed any negatives for us. We had a seamless journey and got through the airport and onto the bus and away in less than half an hour of landing. We had fully anticipated missing lunch as we expected the journey to take longer than it did (about 1hr 45mins) but we were warmly greeted on arrival, told to leave our luggage near reception, quickly issued our wristbands and ushered into lunch. On retrieving our luggage we were offered help by the lovely staff to carry them to our room in the annex - we managed on our own but appreciated the offer. We had politely emailed ahead with a possible room request and whether or not it was actually documented I’m not sure but we got exactly what we had hoped for! We had a lovely corner room on the top floor of one of the annexes with views to the sea and mountains… fabulous. The staff are one of the best assets this hotel has to offer - they are still smiling, efficient and courteous in all departments even at the end of a long hot tiring season. I had asked for an extra pillow after breakfast and assured them that there was no rush but it was delivered to our room almost before I’d got back myself! A lot of the team were quite young as well and had a far more positive attitude than you, unfortunately, quite often encounter in certain customer service roles in the U.K. these days. We have only ever done all inclusive once before as it’s not really our 'thing' but compared to that we were quite impressed with what was on offer. The beer was lovely, the white wine a bit too sweet for me but still reasonably palatable and normally I don’t drink red wine at all at home but favoured that over the white with a splash of soda water in it. The food was plentiful, varied and tasty including some of the more ‘upmarket' meats like lamb, duck in orange sauce and steaks instead of your usual abundant dishes of pork and chicken etc. There was always a Dalmatian speciality, some nice pasta dishes as well as various choices of fish and a live cooking station that changed the offerings regularly. The only thing that we were a bit concerned about occurred towards the end of our stay that we thought really wasn’t appropriate in this day and age. Whilst we were aware it was a 'pet friendly' hotel - which, generally speaking, I don’t have a problem with - but, what we didn’t expect to see was a dog in the dining room at evening meal time. It was when we were leaving the restaurant so we didn’t actually see them having their meal, but I daresay they had been feeding it with titbits during dinner and therefore got dog 'slobber' on their hands and probably touched the buffet serving utensils that all the other guests were using without washing their hands. I’m afraid to say that on no account should dogs be allowed in the public dining area due to hygiene reasons. Apart from that we’ve had a lovely time. We walked to Makarska and back through the woods and cliff top paths admiring the stunning scenery, as well as getting the bus a couple of times to walk around Makarska itself. We got the little family bus to Podgora and walked back from there along the coast all the way. We trotted up to the harbour in Tučepi numerous times and also sat around a little bit in the hotel grounds with a cold beer after our walks! Even my partner who’s not as keen as me on walking surprised me by wanting to repeat some of the longer walks that we did. We would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel in the future. "This is a well kept small hotel in a beautiful location on a stony beach with mountains behind. The food is simple, with limited choice, but of a good quality. I booked a room with two single beds but was given a small room with a queen bed and told I had to pay more for two beds. The staff were friendly and helpful."
