Rogoznica Holidays

A peaceful part of southern Croatia

A low-key yet seriously pretty village on the Dalmatian coast, you won’t hear Rogoznica talked about in the same breath as Croatia’s higher profile destinations such as Split and Dubrovnik. But to visit Rogoznica is to fall in love with its sweeping views, spots of unparalleled natural beauty, and less bustling, easy-going atmosphere.

Perhaps the main attraction here is Dragon’s Eye Lake – a unique natural wonder that’s just 200 metres inland from the sea, surrounded by cliffs, and boasting crystal-clear waters of varying hues. You’ll find a handful of pebbly beaches along the coast, too, including a couple on nearby Kopara Island, which is connected to Rogoznica by bridge.

While you’re on Kopara Island, it’s well worth visiting the lavender labyrinth. Located at the top of a hill, the main draw here is the unforgettable views of the bay and sparkling Adriatic Sea. And, if its luxurious yachts you’re looking for, you’ll see plenty of them at Marina Frapa. This is also the ideal time time to take five, sit down, and enjoy a drink or bite to eat at one of the nearby restaurants and bars.

Rogoznica is in a great spot for visiting other, more famous parts of Croatia, too. Roughly located hallway between Split and Šibenik, both towns are around an hour’s taxi ride away if you fancy seeing even more of this wonderful country.
