Riva Hvar Yacht Harbour Hotel

Many of the hotels around Hvar’s main square have preserved the old-world opulence of yesteryear in their interiors – not this one. The stone façade of the Riva Hvar Yacht Harbour Hotel might look traditional, but head inside and you’ll find 1960s-inspired Hollywood glamour. Many of the walls are adorned with huge photographs of movie stars like Audrey Hepburn, James Dean and Brigitte Bardot, while the rest of the interiors are sleek and minimalist.

As far as location goes, it doesn’t get much better than this. You’ll find the hotel perched on the waterfront by the port of Hvar, so you can watch the glitzy yachts bobbing up and down in the water from many parts of the hotel. It’s also the starting point for catamaran trips to Split and islands like Vis and Korčula. The town square, the Hvar Public Theatre and the St Stephen’s Cathedral are within a five-minute walk, too.
