Admiral Grand Hotel

"My husband and I have just returned from a wonderfully relaxing 10-day stay at The Admiral Hotel in Slano, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to unwind. The staff were consistently polite, welcoming and attentive, and both the hotel and our room were always spotlessly clean. As a vegetarian, my husband was presently suprised with the variety of food available. Breakfast offered plenty of choice, including cereals, melon, omelettes and pancakes, while dinner featured chargrilled vegetables, a selection of salads, various potato dishes and pasta. There was also always a vegetarian soup option, and, of course, plenty of delicious desserts to enjoy. We particularly loved making use of the jacuzzi and sauna in the evenings and on the less sunny days, which added to the relaxing atmosphere of our stay. One of the highlights of our holiday was the scenic walk around the bay towards Hotel Osmine. The stunning scenery made it the perfect route for our daily morning walks, and we never tired of the views. We also found The Admiral to be considerably quieter than the neighbouring Hotel Osmine, which we greatly appreciated. While the latter appeared to favour music from its outdoor bar and organised entertainment, The Admiral offered a much more peaceful atmosphere, where the soothing sound of the waves could be enjoyed without interruption. For anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle, relax and recharge in stunning surroundings, this hotel is ideal. Following recommendations from other guests, we booked a trip with Slano Boat Excursions, and the excursion to the neighbouring islands certainly did not disappoint. We enjoyed it so much that we are already planning to take their Dubrovnik boat trip on our next visit. As we were celebrating our honeymoon, we were very kindly given a complimentary room upgrade, which was such a lovely and much-appreciated gesture. Enjoying the evening sunsets over the bay from our balcony was the perfect way to wind down each day before dinner and made our stay feel even more special. Although we enjoyed the late-season sunshine in mid-October, we did experience a few overcast and rainy days at the beginning of our stay. For those whose main priority is sunshine, an earlier time of year might be worth considering. However, the hotel’s peaceful atmosphere and beautiful setting made it an enjoyable destination regardless. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and are already looking forward to returning to The Admiral for our holiday next year. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff, from housekeeping and room service to the restaurant and breakfast buffet teams, for your kindness, friendly service and thoughtful words throughout our stay. The Admiral is a little gem for anyone seeking peace, relaxation and beautiful surroundings. We would happily recommend it and look forward to our return."

"Recently returned from 10 days in this amazing hotel. We arrived late evening and check in was swift and we were shown to our room and our cases taken for us. As we missed dinner they had provided some cold meats, bread and fruit in the room for us which was appreciated. All of the staff are outstanding, they work so hard and are extremely helpful and friendly we didn't encounter one who wasn't. Food, we were half board and the breakfast buffet was extensive, and also hot selection with eggs fried to order. Dinner was exceptional soup or salad and cold cuts for starters and every night there was at least 3 meat choices, the lamb was delicious, and 2 or 2 or 3 fish choices plus pasta, french fries and lots of vegetables. For desert there was always a great selection of cakes and apple strudel was on the menu every night much to our delight as it was so nice. In the time we were there the food containers were changed regularly, not topped up but fresh hot ones brought out. Room, although not a big it was well laid out and adequate, the bed was two large singles together and was huge and so comfortable. The windows onto the balcony also had shutters outside and it took me a while to get the hang of opening and locking it. The balcony had a table and 2 chairs nice to sit and have a cup of coffee. Housekeeping, was exceptional and what was really nice was they came the same time each day usually about 10am. The hotel itself is very nice, there is a small bar and various places wto sit with sofas and chairs. No entertainment apart from a panist 2 nights and there were som regional folk dancers one night. The indoor pool and spa were great and we started each day with a session in the jacuzi. lots of sunbeds around the indoor pool and loads of towels. The outdoor pool had plenty of sunbeds and shades and was adjacent to the beach where there was never a shortage of sunbeds. Slano is very small and to be honest not a lot to do but we knew it was going to be quiet so were not dissapointed. We had a lovely holiday and came home well fed and relaxed."

"A lovely hotel in a quiet location . Spacious room cleaned daily . We went on the Slano boat excursion to Dubrovnik ,worth going on especially the approach to the old harbour .(lots of photo opportunities ) We also went to Ston using Flix bus . A great place to visit with impressive walls . Staff helpul and pleasant . We were half board and there was always plenty of choice for breakfast and dinner . Our first visit to Croatia but would love to return . Thanks to all the staff for helping to make this a lovely restful week in a beautiful place Ray and Carol ."
