Orasac Holidays

An idyllic Croatian village

You really feel like you’ve travelled back in time when you visit Orasac, a low-key Croatian village just up the coast from Dubrovnik. In the shrubland of the Dubrovacko Primorje region, this cluster of terracotta-roofed cottages is surrounded by hills draped in olive groves and the sparklingly clear Adriatic Sea, with the pine-coated Elafiti Islands visible in the distance. It’s a truly idyllic spot.

Orasac holidays are all about breathtaking scenery, with gorgeous sea views and rugged, hidden bays where you can discover perfect seclusion. The area is also known for its rural tourism: there’s a patchwork of family farms where you can buy straight-from-the-vineyard wine, and you can sit down to enjoy roasted squid cooked outdoors at one of the ramshackle ‘konobas’ (traditional restaurants) dotted around the village. Superlative beaches, natural beauty and excellent local gastronomy – holidays to Orasac have it all.

Your Orasac questions, answered

Remote, rugged Orasac is ideal for romantic couples, outdoorsy families or friends seeking restorative peace and quiet. The clear sea makes it great for water sports enthusiasts, too.
The village is located between the rustic settlements of Trsteno and Zaton, just 14 kilometres northwest of Dubrovnik’s Old Town (with which it’s connected by bus).
This coastal village is more affordable than Dubrovnik, and you’ll find cheap seafood and pizza restaurants along with a range of reasonably priced accommodation options.
