"Villas
The villas are lovely and very close to the pool and beach. Ours was clean and spacious, the bed was firm but comfortable. The views are wonderful and the terrace is equppied with a table and chairs, 2 sunbeds and a parasol.
There is a well equipped kitchenette with most appliances etc you would need - hot plate, fridge, microwave, kettle, teapot, cutlery, pots, pans, dishes, tea towel, sponge, fairy liquid.... oddly instead of a toaster there is a toasted sandwich maker. Personally I would prefer a toaster but no big deal.
The only thing I would change is the unit against the wall in the kitchen. It needs to be higher so it can be used as counter space / a worktop. There is a table but my preference is to have counter space for preparing food, I did find it awkward at times.
The shower was good - fresh towels, white terry cloth bathrobes, and slippers are provided. There is an iron and a safe.
Midway through the holiday our patio door handle broke which meant we couldn't access the terrace. This was fixed the very next day - they had to take the whole patio door down and replace the locking mechanism. By the time we returned from a swim it was done.
Hotel, Pool & Beach
The Hotel is very nice, modern and spacious. There is a huge indoor pool, spa and gym. There is also a gaming room, some pool tables and fuzball. We had the breakfast buffet one morning and it was excellent, lots of choice. We arrived after 11pm on a Sunday and there wasn't anywhere to buy food, so bear this in mind if you have a late flight. Housekeeping will come every day to make beds, replace towels, and clean, if you want them to. There is a small ant issue, so it is a good idea to have the bins emptied regularly.
The beach is literally in front of the pool area. It's a pebble shore but once you are in the water it's a sandy seabed. There are spots with natural shade from the trees, otherwise you have to hire sundbeds and parasols.
Mlini
Mlini is a lovely little village with a small harbour and a church. There is only about 7 restaurants however. Luckily they were all good. There is a lack of cheaper lunch options, the only one we found was a kiosk by Mlini beach selling crepes and hot dogs. The nearest shop is a good 15 minutes walk away which was hard with it being so very hot and uphill. There is a big supermarket In neighboring town Srebreno, about 25-30 minutes walk. Having more basics like bread, millk, cheese etc close by would have been welcome. Maybe the hotel can't offer this as it takes away business from the local shop.
Surrounding Area
Dubrovnik is close by - you can go by boat or bus. We took the boat. It's very hot in Dubrovnik, what can I say.... it's beautiful but I struggled with the heat so perhaps didn't enjoy it as much as I could have. We didn't walk on the wall, as I thought 40 euros each was ridiculously expensive, and I was hot enough already.
The town of Cavtat is in the other direction, again you can go by boat or bus. I really liked Cavtat. It's that little bit busier than Mlini and there is a beautiful coastal walk lined with trees for shade. We swam at the allocated area near the harbour, the water was crystal clear and there was a shallow area safe enough for kids if supervised.
Budget
I found the prices to be on par with the UK. There were 3 of us ( one 13 year old) and none of us were drinking alcohol, but the bill consistently came in at about 120 Euros if having a proper main (not pizza) and either a starter or dessert, and a soft drink.
