Hotel Sumratin

"The hotel is beautiful and very clean, the maids do an amazing job. Breakfast is ok, the tables aren’t cleaned very quickly at all we sat for breakfast most mornings for 30+ mins and tables were still full of dirty dishes, we had to ask for bowls, and items replenishing every morning. You can find something to eat there is plenty of choice but not a 5 star breakfast in our opinion. The rooftop bar was lovely, drinks always serviced quickly to the beds, but waiting at the bar takes agers. Pizza arrived a few times cold so we had to send back. The towels on the roof can be exchanged with the tickets provided but we had to wait a number of times as nobody’s on the desk. The restaurants attached to the hotel was nice, but on our first night we went for a meal there to be told no availability, when we could clearly see no tables inside were filled, when I queried it and said we were staying in the hotel the lady pulled a face and said we could sit inside but it was hot (which it wasn’t, it was air conditioned and the doors were al Pulled back) the staff were rude in the restaurant but the service was adequate. We didn’t have a great start on arrival, no water or drinks on check in. The room was not set up for 3 as we booked we had to report to reception and wait for the maid to come. Then again when we needed extra glasses and cups. I messaged the hotel prior to our arrival asking for a sea view but we got a tree view, I understand this isn’t guaranteed but I feel they tried their best to give us the complete opposite of what we wanted! We had a lovely time and the hotel is in a great spot. However, we have stayed in many 5 star hotels throughout the world and this is lacking due to minor issues that need addressing, more staff could be added to make things more efficient."

"Located around 15 minutes from Dubrovnik - this hotel was just lovely. Fairly new and very chic! Bedrooms were spacious and beds super comfy. Breakfast was excellent, so much choice and staff very attentive. Everywhere within the hotel and externally was super clean. The roof top pool area has lots of beds but was pretty busy so beds not guaranteed although bed saving was permitted. The only flaw I would say was that the pool, whilst contemporary and stylish, had no hand rails anywhere and so difficult for anyone with a disability etc. two members of our party fell when trying to enter the pool; seating and ledges not all flat and surrounding areas/steps can get slippy. It’s a freshwater pool and very cold but once you’re in it’s refreshing especially as we had temperatures in the high thirties! The rooftop bar offered a wide range of drinks and food. Easily ordered using the QR code on your table. Big shout out to the lovely Azra who looked after us well and gave us lots of useful information. Just five minutes walk from the hotel you’ll find the shingle beach, not the prettiest but the water is lovely and warm. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from along the promenade and the hotel itself has beautiful outdoor seating for evenings to just sit and people watch. Value wise, it was worth the money and we are definitely going back in the cooler months so we can see more of Dubrovnik and Croatia."

Although it is a non-smoking hotel, I was pleasantly surprised that I could enjoy my cappuccino and have a cigarette on the rooftop, which features a stunning pool and a lovely sunbathing area. The continental breakfast offers a wide variety of choices, and the nighttime lounges create an atmosphere of tranquility and refined elegance. My only suggestions would be to include parking, a few drinks in the room bar in the room rate rather than as an extra charge. I would highly recommend the Sumratin to anyone visiting Dubrovnik, which is just five minutes away by Uber. A truly unforgettable stay.”"
