Hotel Morabeza

"Another great 2 week stay and we will definitely be back. The newly renovated beach club is lovely, great atmosphere. Our room was cleaned thoroughly every day and any issues dealt with immediately. The location of the hotel is perfect for going into town. The best of any hotel in Santa Maria in our opinion. We prefer a laid back style holiday which is what you get at the Morabeza and we purposely avoid new all inclusive resorts of which there are many in Santa Maria. As it’s an older hotel there is a patina of sorts which adds to its charm for us. Cape Verde isn’t Europe so allowances should be made for that in our opinion. No stress as the locals say….. Cape Verde"

"This maybe was a 4 star hotel, but has lost it charm. Cleanliness of both room and communal areas poor. Service was poor, most people didn’t speak English which is necessary in the hotel industry. We stayed 2 weeks so wasn’t a one off. Even at the end of the day they didn’t clean rubbish left at the pool. Location is amazing."

"The junior suite rooms are riddled with damp growing under the many decades old plaster walls, it’s everywhere. Staff in hotel unhelpful, rude and speak very little English. Beach bar try and rip you off by adding drinks to the bill that you haven’t had and hope you don’t notice! Many waiters standing around the bar area doing nothing and only one woman doing all the orders to all the tables and very very slow service due to this - why are the men just standing around doing nothing? Food was ok. Drinks were ok. Nice beachside location - that’s the only plus. Hotel has no entertainment whatsoever and desperately needs up grading on the left hand side Shiites and rooms. I would never stay at this hotel again and it has put me off staying in any Morabeza hotels in the future. The female manager is about as much use as a chocolate teapot, tells you ‘untruths’ to placate you. Awful experience here and a complete waste of over £4,000!!!!! Never again!"
