"I made a huge mistake staying at Hotel Vega in Sofia. If you want good service, stay ONLY with reputable international hotel chains in Bulgaria. I had to spend an unexpected night in Sofia in June 2025 and did not check this hotel in advance. It was a last-minute decision to stay there. The temperature outside was more than 30 °C on this day. The AC in the room was set to 27°C. Around 5 pm, I started boiling in my room. I can't adjust the AC temp in my room. The phone was not working, so I went to the reception desk to ask the receptionist to fix the temperature in my room. The guy started yelling at me, asking me how I dared to bother him and what he could do if the AC is central. All the rooms are hot, no night manager to fix the issue, the owner know, but it's not up to him to fix the issue. We just have to pay and boil there. The bad attitude and service in this country never seem to disappoint me."

"I arrived at the hotel tired and just wanted to check in and get into a shower and relax. The man at the reception became extremely rude very quickly when he asked me for a tax number for an invoice for my company and I asked if we can do this at check out, cause I'm tired. He started lecturing me what I should have said or done in the beginning of our conversation, then started yelling at me when I wanted to just cut it short and finalize the check-in, then started angrily mouthing something in a language I don't know. A terrible experience, a complete opposite of welcoming, respectful and professional."
