Alua Sunny Beach

"Hotel is very basic at best I’ll start with the good things - very spacious room. The hotel itself as regards to its facilities and buildings are vast are of high quality. Plenty of swimming pools (albeit cold out of season) that is about it Indoor pool cold and very busy. Sauna and steam room area hardly working, sauna was out of service for half of my stay and when it was working it felt like it was barely on. Please do not bother booking any massage treatments. I got absolutely ripped off paying 110 euro for a 90 min “deluxe package” which was far from that. Left me in the steam room (which is free by the way) for 20 minutes, did a very quick Turkish bath for 10 mins, left me for 20 mins to “relax” then the lady did a very painful massage that felt rushed for 30 mins then left me to again “relax” for 20. Absolutely disgusted. The food was god damn awful. I had to leave the hotel to go to local supermarkets and make my own food up or eat elsewhere. Food so dry and tasteless. Flies everywhere as well. Bars - main bar 24/7 so can’t complain there Staff. It’s like the lights are on but no one is at home! Very rude and abrupt at check in. Staff didn’t feel very welcoming, nor friendly. There was a very nice elderly lady receptionist who was lovely she was so helpful, and friendly maids on our floor. Also a very friendly female lifeguard by the pool (I specify female as I believe she was the only one female) Entrainment - wasn’t our vibe. But they tried to cater so fairness to them. Entertainers were always friendly when you saw them. We had “my club deluxe” upgrade. Don’t bother. We had a coffee machine in the room and a bottle of wine. Separate seating area at the buffet (yet it was that busy you just had to sit where you could) and we had access to this private lounge room which was nice I guess and you could help yourselves to limited drinks. It was a break and it was somewhat sunny. We made some nice friends and the time we had was “manageable” Based on the food and the staff and atmosphere I shall not return."

"The hotel wasn’t what I expected at all. The room was nice. But the staff and food really let it down. The value for money was poor and the service all round was poor. To say it advertised ‘family friendly’ wasn’t right either because it was far from. There was pretty much no kids entertainment at all and what minimal there was? Was very poor. Dated. And it didn’t entertain my 5 year old. I do believe it was coming to the end of the season HOWEVER I have been places at this time of year before where I could never complain about as it’s still been up to its stars standards. This was definately not a 4 star. I’d give it a 2"

"The staff and food was fantastic and the only animation lady was amazing but wasn’t impressed with the pool being so cold that I couldn’t go in and the entertainment was a bit wierd like the circus was burlesque from Tina and Sophie Poultney and Sue Scott (West Midlands)"
