Barcelo Royal Beach

"The room size was very good for a family with one child. The bathroom was spacious as well, and the balcony was large and comfortable. We stayed on an all-inclusive basis, and the food in the main restaurant was at the level we expected from a hotel of this category, with a good enough variety and quality. However, there are several areas that need improvement. The food at the pool bar was quite mediocre, and the cocktails tasted noticeably watered down. We also expected much more from the entertainment and animation program. The biggest disappointment was the pool towel policy. Towels are apparently only provided until 12:00 noon. If you prefer to sleep a little longer during your holiday, as we sometimes do, you can end up without a towel for the pool for the entire day. Considering that the hotel does not have its own private beach, this policy is very difficult to understand and, in our opinion, not acceptable for a 5-star resort. Overall, we had a good stay and there are many positives, particularly the spacious accommodation and the main restaurant, but some aspects of the service simply do not meet 5-star expectations."

"We arrived late at night. Receptionist was pleasant and check in was easy and they handed us bags which had a sandwich, water bottle and fruits. The night porter helped with taking the luggage to our room. Some of the reception staff are very young and English is not spoken. I can understand language barriers for sure. The cleaning ladies who tidyied and cleaned our room daily were fantastic. For a 5 star hotel the variety of food offered was very limited and food was repeated couple of times but we always found something to eat. We preferred the lunch snacks daily served at the pool bar in the afternoon. Dinner service is stopped at 9.00pm which was quite early. We enjoyed walking down to the beach daily for a evening swim but had to rush back as we didn't want to miss dinner service. Drinks stopped serving at bars at 11.00pm and sometimes the staff are hassled for drink service after 11.00pm. The staff work very hard but they get paid very little so try to tip them when possible. The common areas are always cleaned and kept tidy. The coffee at the restaurants are not very good. Coffee served at the lobby bar is very good. The hotel is connected to a mall which was great to walk around and buy things if required. The hotel is situated in a good location. 3 minute walk to the beach and 6 minutes to flower road. Thankfully not too noisy to sleep through the night. We had to check out at 11.00am. We requested a courtesy room to shower and get ready for evening pick up for our flight. The courtesy room even though was free to use. It smelled very bad and not maintained well. I hope they improve the quality of the room. Overall we had a very comfortable holiday with the family."

"⭐ 1/5 - Absolutely Horrible Experience - We Will Never Return After spending an entire week at Barceló Royal Beach, I can honestly say that this was one of the worst and most disappointing hotel experiences we have ever had. From the moment we arrived, the attitude at reception was cold, unfriendly, and completely unwelcoming. No smiles, no genuine willingness to help, and throughout our stay we constantly felt as though we were not wanted there. Unfortunately, as an Israeli family, we also felt that the attitude toward us was different and at times openly hostile. I cannot know the reason behind the staff’s behavior, but the treatment we experienced left us with a very uncomfortable feeling of possible antisemitism. No guest should ever leave a hotel feeling this way. The way some staff members treated our children was completely unacceptable. Instead of speaking to them respectfully, staff members actually shouted at them. We came here for a family vacation, not to have our children treated as if they were a problem or an inconvenience. The room situation was another huge disappointment. We specifically BOOKED AND PAID FOR DELUXE ROOMS. Instead, we were given rooms in the apartment section, which is not even inside the main hotel building. This was absolutely not what we expected or believed we had booked. To make matters worse, the rooms had a terrible, unpleasant odor. After paying for Deluxe accommodation at a Barceló property, being placed in rooms in a separate apartment area with such a bad smell was simply unacceptable. And the problems did not stop there. The air conditioning did not work properly. Getting basic things such as towels became a struggle. Requests were ignored or took far too long to be handled. Even getting room keys became an issue. We constantly felt that we had to chase the staff for basic services that should be automatic in a hotel of this supposed standard. The food was another major disappointment. It was repetitive, with practically the same things being served day after day. For guests staying an entire week, the lack of variety becomes extremely frustrating. But the worst part of this experience was not the rooms, the smell, the air conditioning, the towels, or even the repetitive food. IT WAS THE ATTITUDE. The lack of hospitality, the cold behavior, the shouting at children, and the constant feeling that nobody cared whether we were comfortable or enjoying our stay completely ruined our vacation. We waited for this holiday, paid a significant amount of money, booked Deluxe rooms, and expected a level of service and accommodation worthy of the Barceló name. What we received was nowhere near what we paid for or expected. I am writing this review because other families deserve to know about our experience before spending their money here, especially Israeli families. After one full week at Barceló Royal Beach, our conclusion is very simple: WE WILL NEVER RETURN, AND WE CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. A deeply disappointing experience from beginning to end."
