Asteria Family Sunny Beach Hotel

"Perfect stay. The rooms were amazing: spacious, comfortable, and all with balconies. The staff were very friendly, and the reception team was fabulous. The kitchen was excellent, and the food was delicious. Highly recommended!"

"This hotel was great for us as a family! The kitchen staff and Packo (the entertainer) were the stars of the show! The hotel has only just begun for the season but the food was exceptional! You basically can get food and drink at any time of the day from the main kitchen, other restaurants or the snack bar. The only thing I would say is the rooms just need updating, however they are fit for purpose. We were only there for a few days but my sons really enjoyed it. The pool is cold, however this is just because we were in May when we went so I'm sure it will heat up for the main season. Packo was fantastic with all the children and kept them busy throughout the days and the night shows. The hotel is very close to the strip of shops and the beach so it's in a very good location. If you are flying from Jet2 just make sure you don't hand in your all inclusive bands until you leave for the bus as there was a bit of confusion for us and the staff, but this was all handled well by the rep. Thank you for all staff at the hotel as my kids really enjoyed it!"

"Arrived at hotel in the small hours only to find the staff found it acceptable to put us on the third floor of a block with no lift when we had told them in advance we had a mobility scooter which was not being delivered until the following day. After eventually being given a room on the ground floor, we were awoken two hours later at 06.30 by the cleaners wanting to know if we wanted the room cleaned, and did we want any more toilet rolls! Obviously the cleaners knew what the food was like. The dining room is accessible by a small lift which is in a different building and just about accommodates a mobility scooter. None of the food is labelled, there is absolutely no consideration with allergens, and at best the food is luke warm, and tasteless. Like many others we ate out a lot - not what you expect to do on an all inclusive. Food is also available at the snackbar by the pool, but this was not replenished until it was almost empty. Some of the items we were given every morning at breakfast were chicken nuggets, chips and cold cauliflower, cold peas, cold sweetcorn and cold broccoli. We started calling this the Listeria Family Hotel. The animation staff were non existent and the only adult evening entertainment the first week was a guess the movie quiz where they played a clip of music and you had to guess the film. The second week we were forbidden from entering because it was the same quiz. Daytime animation might as well all been cancelled to the extent where I put a notice on their notice board advising all daytime animation was cancelled due to lack of interest by the staff. This did generate a bit of redponse for 48 hours. Admittedly we did go to this hotel at the end of the season, but this does not excuse the hotel closing at 3pm so the staff could have their party. whilst we were still. guests at the hotel. None of the staff ever looked happy and only Sonia on Reception seemed to be aware that it was holidaymakers who were keeping them in a job. Is this hotel disabled friendly? No. Is the food in the hotel good? No. Would I recommend this hotel to anyone else? No. The one positive about this hotel is its central location. At least it is easy to find somewhere else to eat"
