"We returned home on Thursday after a very enjoyable stay and wanted to share some feedback for future guests.
Arrival and check-in were smooth and straightforward, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our holiday.
One day we took a walk to Pomorie. It is quite a long walk and took us around an hour and 20 minutes. You can walk along the beach, which would probably take longer due to the terrain, but there is also a pleasant side path. It is slightly overgrown in places, so be mindful of horseflies, but we found the walk enjoyable, especially on a cool and overcast day. Pomorie itself was nice to visit, although as it was out of season, not a great deal was open. It was still a good opportunity to experience a little more of Bulgaria. On our next visit, which we will definitely make, we would probably hire a car and explore some more of the surrounding areas. As others have mentioned, the hotel is quite remote, so having access to transport is useful if you want to travel further afield. Although there is a free shuttle buss to Pomorie.
The Spa was a brilliant addition to our holiday. My two daughters, aged 9 and 13, both thoroughly enjoyed it, we all had lovely massages. My daughter had her hair braided, and I also treated myself to a manicure. All of the staff and facilities were excellent. There was a sauna, a steam room and a low-heat sauna that the children were able to use. The indoor pool and aqua tonic area were fantastic. As we had a very late flight on our final day, we spent most of the day in the Spa, which was perfect. There are also showers and changing facilities available for guests who have checked out of their room at 11am.
Our room was comfortable, clean and well maintained. Beds were not squeaky as mentioned in another review. One useful tip for future guests is that the rooms use two-pin adapters only and do not have USB charging sockets, so be sure to bring your own charging adapter.
The balcony was spacious, well maintained and a lovely place to sit and relax. We particularly enjoyed watching the house martins swooping around catching insects each morning and evening. Another feature we appreciated was the full sliding mosquito screen on the balcony door, which allowed us to leave the door open and enjoy the fresh air without worrying about insects entering the room. There is good aircon.
The food was excellent throughout our stay. Everything was consistently hot, fresh and well presented, and we genuinely had no complaints at all. Much of the food was freshly prepared in front of guests, and it was clear that food safety standards were taken seriously. Staff were regularly checking temperatures, and there always seemed to be team members monitoring and maintaining the buffet areas. There was also occasionally a slight language barrier when speaking with chefs at the live cooking stations, particularly when requesting simple variations such as plain pasta or a pizza without cheese. We found it helpful to use translation tools on our phone to communicate more clearly, which made things much easier.
During busy periods at bars and food stations, we occasionally noticed inconsistency in queueing behaviour, with some guests not following an orderly queue. This could sometimes cause confusion or delays, particularly at peak times. Most guests were patient and respectful, but the flow was not always well maintained when it was busiest.
The hotel itself was kept very clean. There were plenty of cleaners visible throughout the day, and we often saw management walking around the resort checking standards and speaking with guests.
In addition to the main restaurant, which was open daily and offered a wide variety of food, there was also a snack bar available. This provided coffee, alcoholic drinks, help-yourself sandwiches, a toastie machine, milk and baby items, fruit, cakes and other snacks throughout the day. There were also two à la carte restaurants that all-inclusive guests could book once during a week’s stay. The outside bar was another nice touch, with a freezer stocked with ice creams and ice lollies.
As it was still out of season, the entertainment took place in the indoor conference room, which was perfectly adequate. The entertainment itself was fairly average, but we imagine that once the season begins on 1st June, it will move, weather permitting, to the outdoor amphitheatre. This would provide a much better setting and should enhance the overall experience. Some of the pools were pleasantly warm, while others were noticeably cooler. If you enjoy spending long periods relaxing in the pool, it may be worth bringing a lilo or inflatable from home, as they are considerably cheaper than purchasing them from the hotel shop.
One point English visitors may wish to note is that there were no English TV channels available. This wasn’t a major issue for us as we were on holiday, but if you like having the television on while getting ready in the evenings, you may wish to bring a Fire Stick, although we cannot confirm whether one works at the resort.
The staff at this hotel were exceptional in our opinion. Every member of staff we encountered worked incredibly hard and was friendly, professional and helpful. Their efforts played a huge part in making our holiday so enjoyable. We were also impressed by how visible the management team were around the resort, regularly checking standards and engaging with guests.
Overall, we had a lovely holiday, enjoyed the facilities, appreciated the high standards of cleanliness and food quality, and would happily return."
