"We appreciated that our request for a high-floor room was honoured, which was a positive start to our stay. Unfortunately, the room itself was extremely hot on arrival and the air conditioning was not working. Despite raising this with staff, no one was able to resolve the issue that evening and it was not repaired until the second day. The first night was therefore very uncomfortable and significantly affected our experience. A gesture of goodwill was offered in the form of a glass of prosecco, which was lukewarm and felt somewhat tokenistic given the circumstances. While staff did apologise, the responses did not feel particularly confident or well-handled, which suggested a lack of training or experience rather than ill intent. Overall, the issue itself was unfortunate but manageable; the greater concern was how it was handled. There appears to be a gap in operational oversight and management that impacts the guest experience. With stronger leadership and better staff support, this hotel could deliver a much more consistent standard. Decent location, close to the metro, but I wouldn't return."

"Our stay at voco Vienna Prater from December 31, 2025, to January 3, 2026, started positively with modern facilities, a spacious room, and an excellent breakfast, but quickly turned into a nightmare due to the suspicious loss and reappearance of my Nintendo Switch. On January 1, housekeeping entered after I mistakenly used the “COME BACK LATER” sign, with the device charging openly on the bedside table. We switched to the “ECO” (Do Not Disturb) sign for the rest of the stay, but on January 3 during packing, it was missing. A thorough search with the dismissive housekeeping manager checking under the bed, mattress edges, behind curtains, and near the couch—yielded nothing. Reception staff were uncooperative, refusing to call police (providing a wrong non-emergency number instead of 133), forcing us to rush to the station and risk our flight for a report. Hours later, the hotel claimed it was “found” in a searched spot, tucked into its case (which we never did), raising serious security concerns about unauthorized access or mishandling. We have to self arrange shipping back to Hong Kong. The hotel’s public response to my wife’s honest Google Maps review falsely accused us of “not checking properly,” which was offensive victim-blaming, and they inappropriately requested review deletion before resolution. Escalations to IHG Guest Relations, then the EMEAA CEO’s office, resulted in repeated deferrals back to the hotel with broken promises of 48-hour follow-ups—ignored for weeks despite multiple chases. The General Manager eventually responded after CEO intervention, reimbursing shipping but ignoring requests to amend the false accusation and apologize. As of February 13, 2026, the promised 10,000 IHG One Rewards points remain uncredited (over 10 days late), highlighting pathetic service, zero accountability, and a complete erosion of trust in voco and IHG—avoid this property if you value security and professionalism."

"Nice hotel, only four underground stops from the centre of Vienna. Really good breakfast, room cleaned everyday. Comfortable beds. Room slightly on the warm side but we found most places we visited in Vienna were too warm when inside. Supermarket across the road and a lovely restaurant just down the road. Would definitely use this hotel again."
