"Myself and my 3 sisters stayed here mid week, for a 3 night stay in Vienna and we were not disappointed. In fact all of us were delighted with the hotel. It was a pleasure to be in and was a good comfortable base for us.
The photos are all very accurate. The public and lobby areas are stunning, just as they are in the photos. It is a truly beautiful building. It is so nice to sit down with a drink in these areas, as we did, when we came back at night. There is a nice vibe and the cocktails are wonderful and they are always served with a generous glass of mixed salted nuts (the wasabi peas are great).
The rooms are spacious and airy and well appointed. There is loads of storage space and there is everything you need, including a good hairdryer, ironing board/iron, tea/coffee/water. There is a nice ensuite with good, spacious shower and toiletries (shampoo.conditioner/body wash) and fresh fluffy towels, including face cloths, plus hand wash/hand cream. We were also provided with fluffy dressing gowns and slippers at reception, without even asking. Everything is immaculately clean. When we were there, it was over 36 degrees outside, but we slept comfortably, due to the efficient air con in the room and the wonderful crisp cotton sheets and comfy beds. It is also nice to have daily housekeeping, where everything is replenished - if you don't have the English tea you want just ask and you will be provided with ample.
The spa facilities are amazing - the pool area is calm and soothing and if you go every morning before breakfast you will have the pool to yourself. Even when we went for a quick dip, during the heatwave, in the afternoon, it wasn't that busy, although we did choose our stay deliberately before the school holidays !
One of the highlights of this hotel is the fabulous cold/hot buffet breakfast. It really is a good idea to pre pay and that way you will often get it cheaper. The breakfast choice is huge and of very good quality - both hot and cold and I had the best scrambled egg ever in a hotel - how do they keep it so soft and creamy, whilst it is being kept warm, without it being overcooked and the chili and smoked cheese sausages were very tasty ! We always chose to eat outside in the pretty garden under one of the shady tables - such a relaxing experience. There is so much choice to eat, that you are still full for ages and don't require any lunch, so in my view the breakfast cost pays for itself.
The hotel is out of the main Innere Stadt area, but you wouldn't tend to get pool, garden, space, ect in the centre, unless you pay absolutely oodles of money. We didn't find that being just out of the centre a problem, as it is just near the rail and tube stations and tram and bus ways. We didn't find any of the transport facilities could be heard in the hotel and in the garden - it is well screened and private. Yes, you do hear the obvious inner city noises, but you are in a city and we didn't find it intrusive in the garden areas.
If you ask at reception, they will tell you how to get to the main must see areas, give you a map and what tram numbers, ect you need and then it is a short ride away. Personally speaking, in the hot weather, walking to the centre, I think would be a bit onerous and you would be tired, before even reaching your must see and I don't mind navigating the public transport in a foreign country.
In summary, I had a wonderful time at this hotel and I wouldn't hesitate to go back, if visiting Vienna again."
