"A great stay from start to finish. Perfect location opposite Stradpark, straightforward journey on the train from the airport, and easy to walk about the city centre or get the Big Bus tour bus nearby. We got a lovely welcome, offered a drink and chocolate while we checked in. Then in the room as it was my husband's birthday we were met with a bottle of wine, chocolate cake and balloons! A really kind touch and much appreciated. We were upgraded to a nice room with two double beds, which was clean and comfortable. A good shower and everything we could need supplied (hairdryer, iron/ironing board, mini bar, coffee and tea making facilities, safe, bathroom products, dressing gowns, slippers etc). As others have mentioned, the only negative of the room is the glass panel by the shower and glass door to the bathroom. If someone goes to the toilet in the night, the bathroom light lights up the whole bedroom! Not the best design feature.
Housekeeping was excellent, very efficient and kept everything spotless. Bottles of water supplied free each day and chocolates on the pillows at night. The room did get hot (even though it was October), the air con was good but noisy so we couldn't leave it on at night. Unlike hotels in the UK the windows did open which was good to get some fresh air but being at the front of the hotel it got too noisy (especially as there were road works right outside) to leave them open.
The M Club lounge was ideal to relax in after a day of sightseeing. It never got too crowded and we loved the large arched window. There is also an outdoor area which would be lovely in summer (although no views from there). Only soft drinks and nuts/sweets available during the day but for 2 hours in the evening there was more on offer - wine/beer, cold meats, cheese, plus 3 hot dishes (1 meat, 1 veggie, 1 side). The only problem with this is that these can empty quickly (especially the meat dish) but they are slow to replace. One night we were there they had a delicious goulash but I had to wait 20 minutes for it to be replaced when the woman in front of me finished it. I would have thought they would have had a back up ready rather than having to wait for another to come up from the main kitchen, not good planning. Breakfast in the M Club was very basic so we had to go to the main restaurant for that. This was my least favourite part of our stay - the breakfast restaurant was always very busy. There was plenty of choice but the hot buffet food wasn't great (tiny sausages and overcooked bacon), although you could queue for freshly made omelettes or fried eggs. You could order hot drinks to your table but I would recommend sticking to coffee (the cups are very small so you'll need more than one!) as the tea was awful (tea bag with a pot of almost cold water and no milk).
Another great addition to this hotel is pool, gym etc. The pool is small but quiet when we were there. We also enjoyed trying out the infrared sauna (there is also a more traditional sauna). My husband said the gym was well equipped although as there wasn't much space it was all packed in.
We also enjoyed cocktails in the Cascade Bar on the ground floor. Unfortunately the bar was reserved on the nights we were there (I think for the business groups) but we were able to get a quick cocktail in the happy hour before heading up to the M Club. There is also a cafe and a few shops in the lobby area.
Overall a very enjoyable stay and we would definitely return when next in Vienna."
