"Not too far from the main sites, very friendly staff, the room was perfect, great light and wonderful shower, the housekeeping was excellent, especially with all the mud coming in from the snow outside. We experienced no noise and slept very well, The breakfast was outstanding, good choice for all and egg dishes to order ala carte best selection of teas I have experienced. Guests should be aware that this is a boutique property with an apartment complex, the mail reception and saloon is located on the first floor."

"Vienna is a unique historic City. Our visit was a journey to visit family history in a City that embodies the history, culture, art. and cuisine of Europe. Our desire was to find a special place to stay for this special visit. Someplace unique, central to the historic center of the City, walking distance to many of the museums and galleries as well as the exceptional restaurants found throughout the City. Through a detail search and review, we discovered the Hotel Altstadt Vienna. This boutique Hotel embodies all of the attributes we search for when traveling. A unique property, that is not a major brand, with distinct individual and spacious rooms, well aportioned, very clean and maintained. In my opinion the Hotel Altstadt, is one of a kind. What it may lack in a large sprawling lobby, it makes up for with distinct intimate spaces, a fabulous breakfast each morning, and a tea time each afternoon with delicious home made pastries, that I'm not sure any guest would ever miss during there stay. We certainly didn't. As a remodeled historic Vienna property, you were reminded of the rich Viennese history and craftsmanship everywhere. A walk up/down the stairs, with your hands on a banister crafted many, many years ago, was a daily reminder of the City you were visiting. Artwork, both contemporary and traditional was tastefully displayed throughout the Hotel. A warm welcome to the Vienna Art District waiting to be explored outside your door. There is so much to do in Vienna, it becomes a bit overwhelming at times. After a long day in the City, it was a welcome respite to return to the Hotel Atstadt, enjoy a glass of wine, or tea, revisit your day and socialize with new friends. The entire experience was relaxing, and at times enchanting. The friendly, capable staff was a large part of the experience. The Staff was helpful, friendly, warm and caring always. We were overwhelmed with the delicacies presented each morning from the kitchen, fresh bread and pastries, from a kitchen staff that was rarely seen but always felt. It is without hesitation that I would highly recommend the Hotel Altstadt Vienna. If you plan a visit to Vienna, treat yourself to a true treasure of this rich historic City."

"Hotel Altstadt is a truly stunning property, with beautiful design details and a charming atmosphere throughout. However, during our four-night stay, it felt like we were given the smallest room available for two people, and there was hardly any space for our luggage or belongings, which made the stay less comfortable than expected. The bathroom heating could not be adjusted, and when we raised this with staff, we were simply told that this is just how it is, which was disappointing. On the positive side, the breakfast was wonderful, with high-quality items, and the afternoon teatime was a real highlight and something we genuinely enjoyed. Overall, the hotel itself is beautiful, but for a longer stay, room size and comfort would be important to clarify in advance."
