Apotek Hotel by Keahotels

"Apotek Hotel was an absolute gem and one of the highlights of my stay in Reykjavík. What really sets this hotel apart is the personalized service and genuinely caring staff. A very special shout-out to Luis, who was my point of contact from the very beginning when I was planning and booking my stay. He was incredibly helpful, responsive and accommodating, especially as I was dealing with the uncertainty surrounding the airline strike. His kindness and willingness to work with me made a stressful situation so much easier. Jenny and Gabriella were also wonderful — friendly, attentive and genuinely interested in making sure I enjoyed my stay. The gourmet breakfast buffet at Apotek Restaurant next door was another highlight. You can access the restaurant directly through the hotel, which was so convenient. The selection and quality were incredible, and both mornings I was there, breakfast was peaceful and just perfect. The restaurant itself has such a beautiful design and great vibe that I actually looked forward to starting my mornings there. Guests also have access to the spa at the sister Hotel Borg, just a couple of doors down. You do have to step outside to get there, but it's very close and was such a nice treat after a day of exploring. The co-ed spa area has a soaking tub and sauna. There's also a steam room, although unfortunately it wasn't working during my visit — hopefully I'll get to try it next time! The locker rooms have lockers with robes and slippers, a shower, and a vanity area with a hair dryer and lotions. It was a wonderful amenity to have during my stay. My room was small, but it was quiet, comfortable and beautifully designed. I especially loved the bathroom — the layout, classy décor and upscale products gave it a luxurious feel. It even had a heated towel rack, which was such a nice touch and also surprisingly practical if you need to hand-wash a couple of items while traveling — things dried very quickly! The central location was perfect for exploring Reykjavík on foot. Between the location, wonderful breakfast, spa access and, most importantly, the exceptional hospitality, Apotek truly felt like a hidden gem. I will absolutely stay here again. A huge thank you to Luis, Jenny and Gabriella for making my stay so memorable!"

"Great location in the centre of old Reykavik. The best thing about this hotel was the reception staff. Friendly and helpful and their recommendations for places to go were spot on every time."
