Convenient base in London’s East End

In London’s eclectic East End, Shoreditch has always had a cool reputation – and it’s not hard to see why. From the thriving street art scene to the trendy pubs and clubs, this place is the poster child for cultural melting pots. And with all this on the doorstep, the easyHotel has snagged a great spot to have you close to all the action.

When you’re not traipsing around the East End, the London Underground will be your new best friend for seeing the sights. The hotel is within easy walking distance of two stops – Old Street and Barbican – so you’ll have a choice of lines for zigzagging across the city. Hop on the circle line at Barbican and in about 20 minutes you can be stood at the foot of Big Ben. From here you can easily hit Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. Hop back on the circle line and head over to Kensington for some of the city’s best museums – will you go science, history, or both?

Back in Shoreditch the foodie scene is something to write home about. Boxpark is an East London staple – a pop-up mall of shipping containers that’s home to some truly excellent street food. You’ll be within walking distance of Spitalfields Market, too, which is a firm favourite among tourists and locals alike. For a sit-down meal, meanwhile, you can head to Shoreditch High St and have your pick of places, or head west to Soho or Covent Garden which are hailed as foodie havens.

Round out the night with a cocktail in a trendy bar or on the dancefloor of a hipster club – either way you’ll be glad of a comfy bed and a soft pillow whatever time you ramble in.
