"We stayed at this hotel between the 4th-9th August 2026. The hotel has potential to be 5 stars however, a lot of work is needed to achieve this status. Currently, it is operating at 2 or 3 star.
Positives:
* Pool areas and spa facilities are good.
* Availability of sun loungers are decent even in peak season.
* Breakfast is fine for a buffet style.
Negatives:
* Very little information upon check in of where all the hotel facilities are located. Normally you would expect a map or an app to be operating for a hotel this size however, this is not the case here which can be confusing. The WhatsApp QR system is not sufficient.
* The hotel appears short staffed, not enough staff on reception or at the bars/restaurants to keep up with the volume of people at peak season.
* The tower building does not have enough lifts, you also cannot select an up or down option which creates big queues and waiting times. Given there are 12 floors in this building, this needs to improve.
* There is only 1 lifeguard for the whole complex, given the size of the hotel, number of pools and the fact there are children around, this doesn’t feel safe.
* The spa in the tower building is a free for all, we used this facility frequently and never saw anyone on the reception to manage it. It is frequently treated as a children’s pool, which feels unsafe given the pool is stepped at areas and has functions which could cause a child to drown. Children are at times unattended in this area which I would deem to be a safety issue. At one point my partner went to use the women’s changing rooms and two men were in using the area. This is not acceptable.
* The doors for both the rooms we had do not shut correctly at first attempt, you have to slam them to get them to shut. This is a security issue. The door handle for the patio door in the first room was also broken.
* Our biggest issue was with ants entering the room via a hole in the patio door. I reported this to reception on the morning of Thursday 6th August who told me this would be rectified asap. We went out with some friends for the day and the problem appeared to have been resolved once we returned. However, after returning from dinner around midnight the ants were back via the hole, up the headboard and towards the shower area. When I spoke to the hotel staff initially, the staff member at reception did not seem to think this was a big issue. After much discussion and multiple requests from us to change rooms, we were told we could stay in another room for the night but we would need to go back to the original room the next day. However, we were then informed that no rooms were available as one was not clean and the other room had guests in it that reception were unaware of. Our room was then cleaned and ant poison sprayed however, because we were not moved room we had to sleep in a room smelling of ant poison. The staff member that cleaned the room also informed me that the ants were “appearing from under the wood”. The next morning we complained via the Jet2 rep after noticing more ants entering from a section of the shower. After spending a whole morning back and forth between jet2 and the hotel we were eventually given a new room. There was no guarantee at any point from the hotel that they would fix the source of the problem therefore, there was no guarantee that we would not have a repeat issue with ants entering the room. We were only offered dinner as a gesture of goodwill, I don’t think this is sufficient for the inconvenience caused. I would also point out that we were on the 12th floor of the tower building, it is concerning that ants were found at this level.
Overall, the hotel has potential to be much better than it currently. I would hope that these points are taken into account and the hotel works to improve."
