"I could not have picked a better location to stay in Lison, as the hotel was literally in the middle of everything and had easy access to all areas of the town, surrounded by bars and restaurants.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was very cosy and quirky on the top floor with a view over the town. However, the room was not very practical, and the bed was fitted into an alcove, meaning you literally had to crouch to get into bed on one side and on the other side, my mum, at just five foot, struggled and banged her head on more than one occasion trying to get in bed. The wardrobe, however, needed a giant to use it as the hangers were around six feet in the air and ran into the wardrobe, meaning that clothes were hung behind each other, my Mum had no chance of hanging anything in there and even I struggled, resorting in the end to just piling everything up in the bottom of the wardrobe. There was also very limited space to put things, literally a tiny table and the window ledge, meaning you had to move everything whenever you wanted to open the window. The bathroom was even worse. The sink was so shallow and the tap fitted so far across it that you could not even brush your teeth without drenching everywhere. This made the tiny shelf above the sink useless as everything got wet. The shower seal did not work, so every time you had a shower, the bathroom flooded, and you ended up using the towels to dry the floor. On reporting this to reception they said all the showers were the same in all the rooms.
Although these were niggles that made getting ready and moving around the room a pain, we did not go to spend any amount of time in the room, so they did not spoil our stay, and the staff at the hotel restaurant/bar were so welcoming every evening when we returned for a drink that I would consider staying again if we returned to Lisbon, I just request not to be on the top floor!"
