"I’ve been there for dinner and it was very cold outside we order fresh mint tea and and one chicken sate,one chicken schnitzel and one fish and chips.when we had our tea and we asked for honey,the waitress told us that honey has finished😂😂😂.in this kind of restaurant there’s no honey 😂😂😂.joke.when serving the fish and chips,the wedges was not crispy enough and the fish was not so crispy and very oily.I don’t know how to explain this,so many personnels working there and this simple dish they can’t make.and it’s 24.50euros.i told the waitress if she can tell this to the cook but she didn’t.my advice if you want to eat fish and chips.buy a portion of kibbeling or lekkerbek and buy chips at bram Ladage you will enjoy more and you can discover the real fish but not at Van der walk restaurant schiedam.it fancy but the food there overall is 5 over 10 and as for the fish and chips is 3 over 10🤭if a British 🇬🇧 eat fish and chips there I think it could be the worst thing that he eat in his life.for other I didn’t taste and I don’t know and same for the hotel I don’t know how it is. But for the fish and chips I know,it was not good.a mistake can happen,at least explain why it’s like this .every customer must have the same treatment as we don’t come there to eat for free."

"The staff at the reception are not very helpful, my laundry was lost for 5 days as the laundry is only done on week days and takes 2 days to get it returned. As I stayed in February and March the room is very cold, maximum 17 to 18 degrees Celsius. As I came for business I was lacking socket at the desk for the PC and a note pad for taking notes. Housekeeping could be improved and opening hours of the gym didn't match with my working hours for exercising. Breakfast buffet is very good, only opens late in the weekend for working people. Parking system is not flawless. Would not advise hotel as price is too high for the service rendered. I'm already staying for more than 10 years in a Van Der Valk hotel in Belgium location and there the price- quality ration is much better. I think Van Der Valk Schiedam suffer too much from the Dutch attitude."
