"I’d like to start by pointing out that one of the two people at the reception was genuinely friendly and helped lift the experience slightly. Unfortunately, the rest of the stay left a lot to be desired: the toilet smelled bad, the stairs were narrow and steep with no elevator, and the cleaning was poor. My room was neither cleaned nor given fresh sheets during my entire stay. Luckily, I was traveling alone – if I’d brought my partner, she probably would have dumped me. I do want to highlight that the location was a positive aspect – close to the tram and not far from the city center. That said, the overall experience was so poor that I simply can’t give more than one star. Just to be clear – I’m not someone who’s usually picky about hotels."

"Terrible smell from the bathroom and obviously they don’t care doing anything about it. Also very noisy between the rooms and out to the corridor. However, it’s located in a charming area, but if you care about the quality of your accommodation during your stay in Amsterdam, you shouldn’t book this hotel."

"In all my life, I have never seen a place so dirty and neglected, with such poor service. The nightmare began at check-in, where there should have been a staff member waiting, but there was no one. There was no doorbell, no bell, no way to get someone's attention. The phone was also not answered. When a staff member finally showed up, he was completely rude and had no interest in helping or solving any problems. The hotel had several signs warning about the smoking ban, with a fine of 250 euros. So far, so good. However, when we arrived at our room, we were greeted by an unbearable smell of cigarettes, which made it impossible to stay or sleep there. On the balcony, more than 50 cigarette butts were scattered around. We went down to reception again and, once again, the staff member was not there. We had to call out loud for someone to come. When he arrived, instead of solving the problem, he tried to refute our criticisms, turning the situation around, as if we were the ones to blame. It was, without a doubt, the worst experience of my life. It ruined our day and the trip. And even if they made a mistake, they don't admit it. There's no way they'll give you your money back, it's practically a robbery."
