easyJet holidays partners with Winnow to take the lead on food waste in collaboration with UN Tourism
Package holiday provider easyJet holidays has partnered with Winnow, AI-powered food waste prevention company, to launch ‘A Practical Guide to Reducing Food Waste in Resorts’ - a new white paper designed to help hotels drive positive operational impact, in collaboration with UN Tourism.
easyJet holidays aims to make more sustainable holidays mainstream by providing better holiday choices for its customers, which is why its equipping its hotel partners with this practical guide to help them measure their food waste.
The tour operator took part in events in Mallorca and Rhodes, where hoteliers, government representatives and industry experts came together to share operational challenges and develop practical solutions.
Designed to support both compliance and performance improvement, the guide provides practical steps, case studies and measurable benchmarks that resorts can apply within their own operations, including:
- Improved measurement around forecasting, production planning and preparation
- The use of Winnow’s AI tools – which have helped Iberostar Hotels & Resorts to reduce waste sent to landfill by 69% from 2021 to 2024, with the help of dedicated teams
- The use of structured Food Waste Prevention Plan aligned with the internationally recognised food waste hierarchy - now embedded in EU policy - which prioritises prevention and reuse as the most effective and value-creating actions
