easyJet holidays responds to government travel announcement
easyJet holidays has confirmed that it is set to restart its holidays as planned from 17 May, with its first customers making the most of Portugal being on the green list, with breaks to Albufeira, Vilamoura and Alvor leading the charge.
To help boost consumer confidence to make a booking and to reassure any customers with existing bookings, the operator is promoting the flexibility available to customers as part of its industry leading Protection Promise. Customers can already make changes or change their mind about their holiday up to 28 days before travel.
The firm has now frther enhanced its Covid commitments for travel this summer to allow fee free changes to be made to holidays where the destination is on the ‘amber’ list up to 24 hours before travel.
The ATOL protected package holiday company, which always follows FCDO advice, is also reminding customers that it will not operate to ‘red’ list destinations. When customers get closer to their planned travel date, if their destination is still on the ‘red’ list, easyJet holidays will cancel the booking and provide a full refund.
For anyone looking to get away to one of the first countries on the ‘green’ list this summer, the holiday operator has holidays to Portugal, Gibraltar, Iceland and Israel on sale now, including some of its favourites:
- Enjoy all-inclusive beachside family fun at the Adriana Beach Club Hotel resort in the Algarve from £650 per person. With five swimming pools, lush gardens and activities and entertainment, this hotel’s extensive grounds have everything needed for a fun filled family getaway.
- Lounge in Luxury at the Pestana Carlton Madeira, one of the first hotels built on the island which hosts an impressive selection of bars, restaurants and amenities, from £779 per person.
- Take in the spectacular views of Gibraltar from the The Rock Hotel from £503 per person, known for its impeccable design, carefully decorated rooms and fantastic food.
- Go back to old-time elegance at the Borg by Keahotels in Iceland from £415 per person, with its interiors retaining original Art Deco features. Situated in the centre of Reykjavik, this hotel is just steps away from restaurants and shops
Garry Wilson, CEO, easyJet holidays, said: “We’re looking forward to sending our customers away again on 17 May, and that will make us one of the first major tour operators to restart travel. We want to provide as much flexibility and choice as we can so customers can make the right decision about their holiday, so we’re really pleased to have further enhanced what we’re able to offer this summer.
“We want to see many more countries on our ‘green’ list so, as the vaccination programme continues to be so successful, we look forward to the reviews and hearing more about continued government plans to make testing easier and more affordable.”
