Many of the hotels in Valletta’s historic centre have preserved the old-world opulence of yesteryear in their interiors – not this one. The owners of 19 Rooms took an 18th Century Palazzo and restored many of the building’s authentic features, but gave the whole place a modern twist. It’s a case of Baroque meets contemporary design, and the result is pretty impressive.
Something else that’s impressive is the hotel’s location – it’s just a flight of stairs down to the waterfront. Plus, you’ve got sights like the Grand Master’s Palace and St John’s Cathedral within a five-minute walk.
